Today we’d like to introduce you to J Wright.
Thanks for sharing your story with us J. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was five years old, I found my love for music through my father who was a DJ. He introduced me to every style and genre of music and played instrumentals and freestyled with me. At eight years old, I wrote my first song and performed it at his funeral. By the time I was 13, I was writing and recording my own music and releasing it online, which gained the attention R.Kelly. He invited me to his home and started mentoring me and taught me song structure and business. By age 16, I had my first platinum song as a writer and was touring the world with people like Chris Brown, Bow Wow, Soulja Boy Tell’Em and Lil Wayne as an artist. I signed to a major label at 17, but we couldn’t get on the same page so, after only four months, I was shelved and not allowed to release my music for four years! During that time, I started working as a songwriter full time and worked with some of the same artists I was touring with before I signed. At 21, I started my company “Camp Entertainment Worldwide ” and begun offering indie artists writing services, production, distribution, marketing, photography, music videos, management and consultation services. Since opening, my company has worked with artists like Timbaland, Kash Doll, 21 Savage, Dj Khalid, Future, Nipsey Hussle, etc. and major companies like VH1, Sony Entertainment, and Lions Gate.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of my biggest challenges with my company has always been cleaning up other peoples messes. My clients are always skeptical about spending money with us because other people have scammed them and not provided the services they promised.

Camp Entertainment Worldwide is a full-service entertainment company that offers songwriting services, production, distribution, marketing, photography, music videos, management and consultation services. We pride ourselves in helping indie artists and small businesses reach the masses.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a nerd, to be honest. I was really shy because where I grew up being smart was cool. I knew a lot of people because I played sports and had a very unique style of fashion but it wasn’t until I started releasing music that I came out of my shell and learned how to network.
