Hidden Gems: Meet Madeline Coffin of MEC REALTY

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Coffin

Hi Madeline, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up all over Atlanta and deeply wrapped up in the diversity this city has to offer. I have always loved being outside in the city and meeting new people. I graduated from Georgia State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology- PreMed. And soon after, I quickly realized I wanted to help people in a different way that was more hands-on and more beneficial to my direct peers.

I received my Real Estate License in December 2017, and have had the most amazing time helping millennials invest in their futures. I love teaching my peers how to maximize a small portion of savings, 401k, or tax returns into limitless potential.

Today, I am a full-time Realtor and have helped over 60 people buy, sell, and invest in real estate, and I absolutely love it! I have streamlined my business and the experiences I offer to my clients into an organized, fun and rewarding opportunity by learning from each client I work with.

Recently I joined the SmartSell Realty Team and have really been enjoying the perks of having a team full of driven REALTORS who are constantly evolving and helping to solve any problems that we come across. I have been so lucky to have found a great team that allows me to continue to be myself and work on the brand that I’ve build. Shoutout to SmartSell!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. This is not an easy job, REALTORS don’t get paid until the transaction has been funded and closed. This means we are working countless hours, driving many miles, and lots of conversations for something that might fall through. Its part of the industry, so you learn to keep it moving, don’t take anything personal, and always remain professional.

I have dealt with difficult clients, difficult agents, and just all around stress as some transactions are more difficult than others. I think a lot of people see the checks or calculate possible commission rates for sales and have the idea that its so easy to sell 20+ houses a year. Trust me, you will work for every single penny you make in this industry, and every transaction and family you help will be as rewarding as the first!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about MEC REALTY?
I am proud to say that I am the face of my business. Everything you see attached to my name, I built with the support of people who love, trust, and want to work with me.

I am super hands-on and make sure I take the time to get to know my clients wants and needs. I love the teaching aspect of working with first-time buyers and first-time sellers. I am always ready to take on a new buyer, but I have been working on helping people sell their homes more these days, as the market has shifted, and homes aren’t flying off the shelves as they were in 2020. People need help, strategies, and most of all the confidence to make informed decisions.

I am super proud to have build a brand that provides educational content to anyone who comes across my name or my business. Constantly looking to improve my business and getting feedback has been something I make a priority as there is always room for improvement.

What sets me apart from other agents? The experience I provide to my clients is one that is unmatched. I give every client I meet with a customized Buyer/Seller handbook that they keep forever. I have my clients fill out a personal intake form that asks personal questions so that I can really build I relationship with them while learning what their wants and needs are in a home.

I would love VoyageATL readers to know that you can do it! You can buy that first house, you can use equity from that first house as a down payment for a bigger, better house in 3-5 years. You can invest in real estate as a first time buyer. And you can walk away from a sale with enough money to pay off your debt! And I would love to help you make that move!

What matters most to you?
The people I work with, I want to ensure everyone I work with knows what to expect, when to expect it and are always confident in my work. I want to ensure my clients are learning all the benefits of owning just one property and hopefully setting in motion a chain of events that drastically changes the trajectory of their financial literacy.
