We’re looking forward to introducing you to Breana Jeanfaivre. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Breana, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
As a mom of two little boys, a wife and a business owner; there’s really no such thing as a normal day because each day is full of its own sweet chaos. A typical morning for me starts as a mama which if you’re a mother, you know how mornings can be. Starting the day off with trying to sip some coffee before my littles awaken but then very quickly thrown right into mom mode; making breakfast, changing diapers and getting our day started usually before seven AM. Once the craziness of the morning settles, I’m either dropping them off at their morning school program or trying to get some work done. I try to prioritize answering emails and messages in the beginning part of my day and then savoring their nap times as my dedicated time to edit galleries. Juggling being a stay at home mom and a business owner is not for the weak, it’s one of the greatest challenges of my life. About three to five evenings a week, I would say I have a session booked and once I’m home from shooting, it’s dinner and bedtime (some nights I’m missing this with my family when I have a shoot booked.) Once the kiddos go to sleep, I’m putting the house back in order then typically editing for an hour or two before climbing into bed with my hubby, going to sleep and starting it all again the next day!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Breana! I’m a wedding and destination photographer based in Georgia, though my roots are in Florida and my heart is happiest when I’m traveling for work. Through my brand, Breana Lynn Photography, I focus on capturing love stories in a way that feels genuine, timeless, and authentic to you and this season of your life. I specialize in candid, film-inspired imagery—moments that feel like they’ve been pulled from memory.
What makes my work unique is the balance I bring between artistry and authenticity. I want my couples to not just see their wedding photos, but to feel the emotions and stories behind them and how they felt that day. Beyond being a photographer, I’m a wife, mama of two boys, and a storyteller who believes love deserves to be remembered beautifully.
Right now, I’m pouring my heart into expanding more into destination weddings, bringing my passion for travel and love stories together. Every new couple I work with feels like an opportunity to create something meaningful and lasting—and that’s what excites me most about the work I do!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Without a doubt, my husband. He’s the one who saw my passion and potential long before I was ready to believe in myself. For our very first wedding anniversary, he gifted me my first DSLR camera—something that completely changed the course of my life. At the time, I was working as a labor and delivery nurse, and it wasn’t until I was on maternity leave with my son that he gently encouraged me to take the leap into photography full time. His belief in me, his encouragement, and his unwavering support have been the foundation of this journey. He’s always seen the dreamer and the artist in me, even when I was hesitant to see it myself.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—absolutely. As much as I love being a photographer, there have been moments where I’ve questioned if I could really keep going. Balancing motherhood with running a business is hard, and on top of that, the photography community in Atlanta is both huge and incredibly talented. It’s easy to fall into comparison and imposter syndrome, wondering if my work is really good enough. There have been times I’ve thought about giving up, but I always circle back to why I started—because I truly love what I do, and because serving my clients brings me so much fulfillment. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
In the photography world, it feels like there’s always a new trend popping up—whether it’s something we see on Pinterest, TikTok, or Instagram. And while many of these trends are fun, beautiful, and even timeless in their own way, I’ve learned that I don’t need to follow every single one to create meaningful work. For me, the foundation of my photography is capturing moments as they genuinely unfold—raw, real, and unforced. Trends will come and go, but the emotions between people, the little in-between moments, and the authenticity of a love story will never go out of style. That’s what grounds my work and makes it unique to me.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I hope my clients would miss more than just my photos—they’d miss me as a person, too. I truly love connecting with people, building friendships, and being invited into the most special chapters of their lives. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of capturing so many milestones for my clients—from engagements and weddings to pregnancy announcements, maternity sessions, and newborn photos. It’s those stories, the relationships, and the memories we create together that mean the most to me. I think that’s what my clients would miss—the experience of being seen, cared for, and having their moments preserved in a way that feels genuine and lasting.
