We recently had the chance to connect with Ashley Wright and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m currently on a journey toward fulfilling my life dream, and this path has led me to a beautiful ministry that I believe God has placed in my heart. I feel truly blessed to have discovered a talent and passion for makeup artistry. Through this gift, I strive to share the inspiring and transformative works of Jesus Christ, hoping to guide others along their spiritual journeys as well. If I had stopped, no one would have heard what he has done for me and what he could do for others. You have to face obstacles in life to be a witness and have a testimony. What we go through is not only for ourselves; it’s for someone else. We share our experiences to show them, “I got through it, and so can you, so don’t give up!”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Ashley Wright, and I am a professional makeup artist with over 10 years of experience. A wife, a mother of 2 beautiful kids MJ & Ruby also a youth leader at my church. I love what I do! I believe that makeup is a healing experience, and the wonderful world of enhancing your beauty can be truly uplifting. I am so grateful that God has given me this gift, allowing me to help others feel and look beautiful in their own unique ways—physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
When someone books an appointment with me, it feels like a divine appointment. They often share their stories with me about what they have been through or are currently experiencing, and that’s when the ministry aspect takes over. I love sharing how God has brought me through storms and left me with a beautiful rainbow at the end. I always say, “With God, all things are possible, and without God, nothing is.”
This belief is what makes my work unique. Makeup is my passion, and when you sit in my chair, I pour my heart and soul into making your face more beautiful.
I am currently working on my own lip gloss called Sugaa Pop Gloss, a t-shirt line, and I also have a hair glitter line available now called Glitter Girl.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Glory be to God! Developing a closer relationship with Him has revealed my true self. I am stronger, wiser, and better than I was before. I’m just starting out on this journey, and the best is yet to come.
My relationship with my husband has also helped me grow into a better person. He truly balances me out. He has stood by my side through thick and thin, in good times and bad, and has taught me what true love means. He has always been my biggest supporter in my career and has shown me how a husband is meant to treat his wife. I am so grateful for God and my husband as well as my family.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
A time? Oh man, I’ve tried several times to give up and throw in the towel, but I couldn’t. I have my family and my kids looking up to me, and that’s what keeps me going. I have to lead by example and remind myself that all storms eventually run out of rain. No matter how hard it gets, I just keep pushing, praying, and transforming my pain into my power. I cannot and will not be defeated because I have greater things ahead. God has BIG plans for me.
“So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued from doing good. At the right time, we will reap a good harvest if we don’t give up or quit.”
Galatians 6:9-10 MSG
Failure is only failure when you choose to quit! Keep going; you’ve got this!
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I will always be true to myself. The way I present myself on social media is the same as how I am in person. I am who God made me, and no person or amount of money can change who I am meant to be!
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Faith… We all have it, but do we truly believe? I have a type of faith that some people might find unusual or even think I’m crazy. Many people pray for things and claim to have faith in God to provide them, but do they really? This is why some don’t see the manifestation of God’s power; they try to put Him in a box, limiting what He can do. But He is limitless.
In His word, it says, “Ask and you shall receive.” One of my personal favorite verses is Ephesians 3:20, which says that He can do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think. Stop limiting your faith; know that God can move mountains, but your full faith is required.
