Story & Lesson Highlights with Ambra Jordan-Velic MSN, APRN, CRNA of Johns Creek

We recently had the chance to connect with Ambra Jordan-Velic MSN, APRN, CRNA and have shared our conversation below.

Ambra , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
What I love most about my work is the genuine connection I get to build with my patients. I truly enjoy talking with them, most appointments turn into conversations where we’re laughing, sharing stories, and catching up more than we’re actually treating. It’s that trust and comfort that makes the experience special on both sides. My goal is always to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and cared for, not just enhanced. That connection is what fuels me every day and is a big part of what sets Prima Doll Aesthetics apart.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Ambra, a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) and the owner of Prima Doll Aesthetics, an intimate, concierge-style medspa where natural beauty meets medical expertise. After over a decade in the operating room, I created Prima Doll to offer a more personalized, elevated aesthetic experience that blends safety, skill, and heart.

Our brand is deeply rooted in helping women, especially moms, feel like themselves again, just a little more refreshed and confident. I’m known for my makeup-free, real approach, and I pride myself on making every patient feel at ease, understood, and never rushed. Honestly, most of our appointments feel more like heartfelt conversations than clinical treatments!

Right now, I’m focused on expanding our regenerative offerings, things like PRP, exosome therapy, and biostimulants—so patients can achieve long-term, skin-deep results in the most natural way possible. Prima Doll is more than a medspa; it’s a space where women are empowered to invest in themselves without guilt, pressure, or pretense.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a naturally curious, imaginative little girl who loved caring for others, asking deep questions, and dreaming big. I didn’t see limits—I just followed what lit me up. I was always nurturing, always observing, and always creating in my own way, whether it was pretending to be a doctor, mixing up “potions,” or helping someone feel better. I think that version of me is still very much alive in what I do now—blending science, art, and heart to help people feel seen, cared for, and beautiful in their own skin.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the most defining wounds of my life was the year 2014, a year that should’ve been a celebration, as it was my final year of anesthesia school, but instead it became the year I lost both my brother and my father. I was extremely close to both of them, and losing them so unexpectedly during such a pivotal time in my life broke me open in ways I never anticipated.

Grief taught me what no textbook or clinical experience ever could. It reshaped the way I see people, time, and the importance of being fully present. I no longer take moments, or people, for granted. I’ve learned how to find inner peace even in the most chaotic seasons, and that healing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means carrying love forward in everything I do.

Their memory is woven into the heart of Prima Doll Aesthetics. Every connection I make, every patient I care for, is influenced by that deep sense of purpose and empathy that came from my own pain. That loss gave me a different kind of strength, one that allows me to show up with more softness, more gratitude, and a genuine desire to help others feel whole in their own skin.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
At Prima Doll, we’ve always been rooted in enhancing natural beauty, embracing aging, and doing it gracefully and age-appropriately. From the very beginning, our philosophy has been about subtle, timeless results, not trends. There was a time when the “filler face” look became a widespread fad, and in some places it still is. But not here. That’s never been our aesthetic, and I’ve turned patients away when a requested treatment didn’t align with what’s healthy or true to our values.

When it comes to new treatments or products, I don’t jump on bandwagons. We don’t chase hype. Before introducing anything, whether it’s a device, a skincare line, or a technique—I look for real clinical data, long-term results, and peer-reviewed studies. I also have honest conversations with fellow aesthetic providers to understand their real-world experience and outcomes.

At the end of the day, every patient at Prima Doll is treated like family, and I would never offer something I wouldn’t wholeheartedly recommend to someone I love. That’s the difference, our choices are grounded in care, science, and integrity, not trends.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I honestly think my patients would miss more than just the results. They’d miss the real, honest conversations we have, the laughs, the venting, the moments where we just connect. Prima Doll has never been one of those places where people feel like just another appointment on the schedule. We know our patients by name, we remember what’s going on in their lives, and we truly care.

It’s not just about beauty here, it’s about trust and comfort. I think they’d miss feeling seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. And maybe most of all, they’d miss their friend in beauty… because that’s what we’ve become to each other.
