Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Keye Bodison of atlanta

We recently had the chance to connect with Keye Bodison and have shared our conversation below.

Keye, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Honestly , Grounding myself , finding peace before the beautiful chaos of the day unfolds. I wake up, wash my face, brush my teeth , sometimes a face mask and then i PRAY and follow that with some light yoga and then i journal! I literally have to do that every morning in that order or i feel my day is not starting off right. It’s crazy how the smallest things can bring so much peace and happiness that transcends into the day.
And once i’m grounded i get into the grind , check my to-do list and start getting it done !

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m keye a dedicated and innovative creative media specialist , specializing in photography, videography, filmmaking, writing , social media management , digital art and much more ! I truly love creating , i originally started off just drawing , painting and sketching but i knew i wanted to take it further and i can create in so many ways. Being a creative i feel like adds to my photography especially being an artist first because it’s a component i can add to make my photos stand out and be more vibrant,tell a story and be wildly creative . I am currently working on my first magazine incorporating my photography and interview skills i have from doing documentaries. The magazine is called CT Magazine aka Culture Talks Mag! I’m really excited for the opportunity to boost up and interview people that usually don’t get interviewed !

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom , she showed my true grit and determination and what it means to go all in on what you believe in ! She worked so hard my entire life , even worked through the summer and i would even help out at her job from time to time! I was able to see greatness in front of me at a young age and was put to work at a young age because she knew greatness was in me! My mom never complained never even looked tired she just got up and did what needed to be done she showed me why complain if you’re doing something that feeds your soul bug not only your soul but also helps others!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Go all in on yourself ! Yes you can be wealthy from art , from being a creative ! All creatives aren’t broke and down bad ! You know you don’t want to be a physical therapist! You can only hide from yourself for so long!” I would tell her all these things so she’d never have to doubt herself or her worth.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the real me as in keye. I always present myself authentically as I live each and every day. I do not present myself with trends or façades. I carry myself to the most highest standard of authenticity and that is what I portray each and every day as the real me.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I feel as though I am doing what I was born to do. I know that because I have went down many paths that I was not passionate about, but I realized immediately each time what was more important to me, which was creating through my artwork, photography, videography filmmaking, and so much more. I know that I was born to do this because I can’t imagine a day not doing.
