We’re looking forward to introducing you to Adrienne Thatcher. Check out our conversation below.
Adrienne, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
One of the biggest misunderstandings about my business is that it’s just about moving furniture or placing crystals—but it goes so much deeper than that.
I practice Classical Feng Shui, which involves compass readings, time-tested formulas, and personalized energy maps based on the individual and the home. It’s more strategic than people realize—like energetic architecture—and it’s tailored for real transformation, not just aesthetics.
Some assume Feng Shui is a luxury or something ‘woo,’ but in my work, it’s often the missing link that helps people shift out of stagnation and into aligned action. Whether it’s career breakthroughs, healing relationships, or selling a home faster, Feng Shui becomes the foundation for bigger life changes.
My approach is highly personal and collaborative—I don’t just drop a report and disappear. I walk with my clients through the process, helping them reconnect with their space, their goals, and their energy. The truth is, when your space supports you, everything else flows more easily.
And no, it’s not just about wind chimes—although I do love a good one in the right spot.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Adrienne and I am a Feng Shui Consultant, energy coach and a certified home analysis expert. Before I started my buisness I spent over 15 years in the real estate world helping people buy and sell homes—but I always sensed there was more to “home” —I wanted to help people feel truly supported by their space. That’s when I discovered Classical Feng Shui, and everything changed. Today, I blend ancient energy wisdom with modern lifestyle needs, bringing clarity, strategy, and soul to the process.
What makes my work unique is that I support clients all over the world through virtual consultations—so I might be aligning the energy of an indoor-outdoor jungle home in Bali one day, and a cozy cottage in Ireland the next. Right now, I’m working on a container home in Decatur, Georgia, and creating a Feng Shui report for an Irish pub in Savannah.
The personalized Feng Shui Home Reports I create serve as an energetic blueprint, revealing what’s truly happening in your home. And here’s the wild part: I can often tell what’s happening in your life (whether it’s health challenges, financial blocks, or relationship struggles) before you even tell me. That’s the power of working with the unseen energy in your space—and yes, some say it’s a little bit magic.
Using the construction date of the home and its floor plan, I apply tools like the Luo Pan compass and Bagua map, which is superimposed over your layout. Through a complex set of calculations, I determine the specific remedies needed in each of the eight sectors of your home.
Whether you live in a high-rise apartment in New York or you’re a man in Maine navigating health challenges, your space is speaking—and I help you listen. Even if your partner doesn’t believe in Feng Shui, the energy in your home is real, and it’s affecting you every single day. My job is to decode that energy and bring it back into balance, so your space starts working for you, not against you. Because to me, true luxury isn’t found in things—it’s found in alignment.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Before I began my Feng Shui practice, I was at a personal and spiritual crossroads. I had come to terms with the fact that motherhood wasn’t part of my path, and I was feeling disconnected and jaded. After 30 years in the bar industry and 15 in real estate, I had seen so much greed, division, and dysfunction—across the country, in politics, and often in people. My faith in humanity was low.
So I took a leap and joined a volunteer travel program, hoping to find purpose and shift my perspective. That decision took me across Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Tahiti, India, and back to Bali. I helped build schools, supported wildlife conservation, and worked with families in remote villages—people who had so little, but lived with so much joy, generosity, and community.
Those experiences stripped away everything superficial and reconnected me to what really matters. They didn’t just open my eyes—they restored my heart. I stopped chasing the material and started honoring the meaningful. That chapter became the foundation for how I live and serve today: with love, intention, and deep belief in the power of alignment, both in our homes and in ourselves.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You will always have everything you need around you—because you’re someone who leads with passion, curiosity, and gratitude. Trust that. Every mistake will teach you something essential. Don’t fear them—embrace them. They’re not detours; they’re part of the path that’s shaping you into exactly who you’re meant to be.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Fads are fast and flashy—but they fade. Foundational shifts are intentional, rooted in wisdom, and create lasting change from the inside out.
In Feng Shui, I’m not chasing trends—I’m aligning energy based on time-tested systems. Real transformation happens through subtle, consistent adjustments that support your life long after the hype is gone.
True alignment isn’t trendy—it’s timeless.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I laugh at this question because I’ve never been one to follow the path society expected of me. I did go to college, but I never believed that checking off the traditional boxes—degree, career, marriage, kids—was the only path to a meaningful life. I’ve always known I was meant for something different, even if I couldn’t name it at the time.
I explored many paths—real estate and decades in the restaurant industry as a bartender—and while neither was my ultimate calling, both gave me powerful tools. Real estate taught me how people connect with their homes. Hospitality taught me how people connect with each other. Working in the service industry gave me a deep understanding of human behavior, energy dynamics, and how to stay grounded and intuitive in high-pressure environments.
When I discovered Feng Shui, everything clicked. It brought together everything I love: energy, psychology, design, intuition, and the power of space to transform lives. I wasn’t told to do this work—I was pulled toward it. And once I started, I knew: this is what I was born to do. It just took a few detours (and a whole lot of life experience) to find my way here.
