An Inspired Chat with Kirsten King

Kirsten King shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Kirsten , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time I felt true joy was about this time last year when I made the decision to relocate from Columbus, Georgia to Atlanta, Georgia. It was a pivotal moment for both me and my business one that required a great deal of faith and courage. There was an undeniable sense of peace and excitement because I knew I wasn’t just making a move; I was positioning myself and my brand for the next level of impact and growth. It truly felt like stepping into the season God had already prepared for me

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kirsten King, and I’m a Digital Marketing Strategist, entrepreneur, and founder of KKO Marketing & Consulting. For over 14 years, I’ve been helping small business owners, entrepreneurs, and organizations amplify their brands, increase visibility, and create marketing/advertising strategies that actually drive results. What makes my work unique is that I don’t just focus on marketing I integrate faith and strategy to help entrepreneurs build businesses that are profitable and purpose-driven.

I also host community events, workshops, and coaching programs that empower others to grow, align their vision with their values, and make an impact in their industries. Currently, I’m working on expanding my brand globally, launching new programs for entrepreneurs, and helping faith-driven leaders embrace marketing in a way that feels authentic and powerful. My journey as a single mom turned multi-business owner has taught me resilience, and now I’m passionate about teaching others how to grow and thrive in both business and life

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is my relationship with God. Once I developed an intimate connection with Him and truly embraced how He sees me, it completely transformed how I showed up for myself. It gave me the confidence to embrace my gifts, walk boldly in my purpose, and fully step into the calling on my life. That shift not only changed me personally but also how I lead in business and empower others.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The defining wounds of my life have been growing up with daddy issues and navigating the journey of being a single mother. For a long time, those experiences felt heavy, but I began to heal when I realized they were part of my testimony. They didn’t break me they shaped me into the strong, resilient, and purpose-driven woman I am today. I’ve learned to turn my pain into purpose by sharing my story, and every time I open up and help someone else heal, I find myself being healed even more

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is very much the real me. What you see is who I am a woman who loves God, a mother to two amazing adult children, a best friend who values deep, authentic relationships, and a builder of communities where women can share their faith and show up fully as themselves. I’ve always believed in leading with transparency, whether it’s in my personal journey or in helping others embrace their own stories. The only part of my life I choose not to share publicly is my personal relationship. Some things deserve to be nurtured in private, but everything else my family, my work, and my passion for empowering others is authentically me.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m absolutely doing what I was born to do. It took time, prayer, and unlearning a lot of what I was told I should do, but once I embraced who God created me to be and the gifts He placed in me, everything shifted.
