We’re looking forward to introducing you to Terrell Fure’ . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Terrell , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes, just the other day a woman in New York just started a conversation with me out of the blue sky but before she started talking to me she gave me a look like yeah I know you 🤣🤣 She didn’t even bother to introduce herself, just kept talking 😂🤣 That was funny and it made me feel proud because of all the hard work I’ve been putting in with my music.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Terrell Fure’ I’m a dancehall reggae artist from New York. I’ve been doing music professionally for about 4 years now. What makes me unique is my voice, catchy hooks, songwriting ability, and overall dope songs. Not everyone has the it factor. But I do so I stand out. I grew up between Long island, Queens, and Brooklyn New York. I actually started dancing first before I starting writing songs. I was about 11 or 12 when I started writing songs. But it started from writing poetry first then I used to make it into songs. My mother’s ex boyfriend Sprocket was one of my inspirations growing up when it came to reggae music and dancing. Also I had a mentor by the name of Dreadful who was a neighborhood reggae artist in Central Islip New York that would keep me sharp lyrically. I used to perform in basement and back yard parties, and battle other neighborhood reggae artist. I performed at colleges opened up for well known artist like Remy Ma, I’ve been on radio before and the list goes on. The journey is definitely beautiful. Right now I just dropped a new song called “Believe In You” 🔥🔥🔥 It’s on all digital platforms. Every one please go download it now. It’s a very positive and uplifting song. Makes you feel good. 😊
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I lost everything. I learned most people only deal with you when you’re in your winning season.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Patience. How to conduct myself in difficult situations. How to move strategic, make educated decisions, and not to let your emotions get the best of you.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Respect. Peace. Living my best life.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Being trustworthy, common sense, and common courtesy.
