We recently had the chance to connect with Zachary Jones and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Zachary, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What im most proud of would be my self Growth. I took the time to build My Faith, my Patience and my Purpose. Staying committed is the most difficult part of my process . There were many times that I felt I was doing so much with very little result which can be frustrating because you know what you’re capable of but My faith in God has made me resilient to failure and delays. Each season I’m in I realized that I need to be a better version of myself in order to live In those moments.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. When I was younger My father and my uncle introduced me to alot of different genre’s of movies, my favorites were (Blade, Rocky 2, The temptations, FiveHeart beats, Bad boys) . We would act out our favorite scenes and from there I started to become interested in Entertainment. I loved to entertain and bring laughter to others around me but I never had that confidence to step out of . I attended college at Savannah State university graduated with my bachelors in Sociology . While in college I joined a modeling organization Savage Incorporated who specializes in Runway, and Print. This allowed me to gain experience in Modeling and it help me with my stage presence being able to perform with 100s of people in attendance. While In college I started doing skits and Short Films this gave me a chance to be in front of the camera. In 2021 I officially moved to Atlanta. I met Ruben Shaw who casted me for my 1st Lead film “The Selector” . Currently I’m building a Modeling pro-folio that will consist of different photoshoot Concepts. I’m also in the process of being Featured in another film.I started a non profit organization called Distant Tribe (Different Individuals Striving Through All Negative Tatics) our mission is to empower the youth to develop confidence and a sense of purpose. The goal is to give opportunities to make positive change, such as community projects or awareness campaigns, can to better our communities by providing the educational resources for passions and dreams to flourish. Living here in Atlanta I’ve made a lot of connections I’m grateful for the people who I’ve worked with so far. There’s so much that God has instore for me . I will continue to walk in a righteous path knowing what’s coming next will potentially be life changing for me and my family.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I limited myself to things I had interest in . I know now that whatever I put my mind towards just having courage and confidence will keep me grounded to completing whatever I start. In life there a 3Ls (Learning, Losing, Lessons) . In life you have to have the desire to Learn. Losing is a state of mind not your reality. In life There are only Lessons, while winning is always in our favor losing shouldn’t be looked as failure but as preparation.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back in my life would be not fully living in purpose . I feel that it’s easy to lose sight of what’s important to you especially when the odds are against you. When you have a craft and you aren’t where you want to be Vs where you currently are there’s more that you have to dedicate yourself to do to get there. The hardest part is actually doing it and staying Faithful to your vision. I learn to use that fear of failure to motivate me to be courageous .
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what really matters to me would be my will to be the best version of myself, rather it’s accomplishing my goals or overall being a better Me, Living righteously is something I take pride in due to the fact that I don’t like myself in situations that would make my life harder. I also take consideration of how others are impacted by my decisions .
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the most at peace when I’m doing the things that I love to do without any restrictions on doing them. My Spiritual Foundation of Faith and my Trust in God has brought me so much peace in my life even when things aren’t going in my Favor I Know that I am Highly Favored through God. I feel at Peace being an Active Father to my Daughter and a Husband. I love being around people that I can really be myself around without judgement.
