Britney Chauntè shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Britney , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to share my story with the world which requires me to speak in public settings and in front of crowds. I’ve always been ok with successfully “getting the job done” from the background or behind the scenes. But as of recent, I have made great impact from being front stage and using my voice to uplift others. I’ve never had the desire to be the center of attention nor the desire to speak in front of big crowds but as of recent, I’ve learned the impact is bigger than me and I accept the responsibility to carry my mission out.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Britney Chaunte and I am the owner of Enchaunte Esthetics and founder of Self Love In A Safe Space. I provide a safe space for men to take care of their mental health through self care. I also curate experiences for both men and women who are on their journey of mastering themselves through unique events. Through my own experience, I believe once you master self love, you master everything else in life!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
The day my dad passed away was the moment my perspective on life and the world changed. I realized that life can be cut short in the blink of an eye. I reflected on how my dad maintained a positive mindset and positive spirit throughout his lifetime up until the day of his death which impacted me tremendously. Once my perspective changed, I started to live my life less anxious and more confident in myself and my ability to live to my fullest potential. I’m still on the journey of doing the inner work, but I’ve come such a long way!
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
My parents would always affirm me, especially my dad! Any time I was sad or scared, he was not only my voice of reason but would remind me of how amazing I am and that I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I pride myself on being the same person I am online and in real life. When I was younger, before I would leave the house my dad would always say “Remember you’re a Johnson!”, which meant “Represent me well!” And I still keep that in mind up until this day. My integrity and my reputation mean everything and I use my platform to show the real me so that when you meet me in person, you can feel the same energy and easily make the connection to the person I am in public.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
The real value of doing the inner work and loving your self completely. Some people never get to the point in life where they view themselves the way Jehovah God views them. Once you love yourself and view yourself the way God views you, you not only find peace within yourself- flaws and all, but you are more self aware and that peace allows you to stop doubting yourself and start recognizing your natural gifts and talents. When you truly self aware, you can align with your true purpose in life, because you’re no longer living from a place of insecurity or fear — you’re living from a place of wholeness and intention.
