Good morning Jada , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recently, I purchased a building for my business as a makeup artist. Honestly one of my most proud moments of my life. I’m not only doing makeup in there but i’m also creating personal content. That’s where all the magic happens.
I also graduated from college in may. I was super proud of my self because in the beginning of college, I lost one of my family members to a tragic accident & before that, i lost my grandpa. It’s was one of the most devastating moments of my life. I was fail classes and i wasn’t in the right mental state, but i push through and graduated. Best feeling ever!!! I literally cried so much at my graduation.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi guys, my name is Jada Symone. I am the CEO of JS Beauty Aura. JS Beauty is the name I came up with as a makeup artists. I wanted to come up with a brand name that speaks “me” in such an authentic way. A lot of my clients that come to me don’t just get their makeup done. It’s an experience!
I always had a passion for the beauty industry from seeing so many beauty gurus on Youtube to seeing celebrities walking the red carpet to seeing a lot of beautiful faces on Vogue magazine. I immediately was intrigued and i wanted to be apart of it so this is only the first step. I really didn’t start touching makeup until covid because my mom thought i was too young for it. When i finally started doing makeup & practcing, i feel like i found my own lane. I want to make my mark in the beauty Industry so my next is “Solmé” coming soon….
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a girl who didn’t know herself. I was literally trying to “fit in” with the crowd knowing that God was trying to set me apart all this time. I truly ain’t know who i was, i was simply just going the motions of life, trying different thing & just live in the present.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time when I wanted to give up on content creation. It’s was the year of 2023 because i didn’t see no progress. I felt stagnant, trying to figure out ways to be entertaining or educational in some way. I was post all kinds of video but didn’t see any numbers being made. It was very discouraging but i was able to find my way back into and realize that it’s all apart of being a creator. People Jackie Aina, Mr.Beast, & Kai Cenat gave me motivation to keep striving because it will all pay off in the end.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, but if i’m truly being honest, i’m a homebody so i don’t get out as much as i need to. So when you see me out in public I’m more to myself, a little shy but if you approach me.. I’m definitely making conversations.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
100% because I feel like people are watching regardless. People will always watching instead of giving you praise for it cause some wish they can do that. Some people wish they had that drive & discipline. I would rather put my heart & soul into something i love to do than to not do it at all because im not receiving recognition or praise.
