An Inspired Chat with Melonie “Renee” Jones of Atlanta, GA

Melonie “Renee” Jones shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Melonie “Renee”, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I am excited to have had the opportunity to attend AnimeNYC 2025 weekend with my youngest daughter, Monet. It was an amazing, life-changing experience for both of us. Monet is also a digital artist and the book illustrator for our Anime book called UNIT 3 Born Without Limits. That event stirred up something in me because I had been procrastinating on it, but now I want to bring something like this to our own community. Stay tuned for that because it’s coming!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an author, speaker, and empowerment advocate passionate about helping others unlock their God-given gifts. As CEO of Pretty on Purpose Consulting and co-founder of Artistic Resilience, Inc., she equips creators and entrepreneurs with tools to build, grow, and shine. A singer, licensed evangelist, and life coach, Melonie inspires audiences with her mantra: “We are all CEOs—Create Every Opportunity, on purpose.”

Becoming a rising voice in empowerment and purpose-driven living. I am a proud graduate of Next Level Speakers Academy and an active member of the NLSA Atlanta Chapter. I am building my speaking career with passion and intention.

My message is simple yet powerful: Press past your fears and step boldly into who you were created to be. I believe that every person was born with something unique, and my mission is to challenge audiences to stop simply doing and start truly becoming. With upcoming engagements across Atlanta and plans to expand nationwide, I am inspiring people to embrace their destiny and live on purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Many people recognized my gift long before I fully embraced it. My mother often reminded my sisters and me to let our light shine, always affirming that we were different. I was known for “doing the most”—not for attention, but because I believed there was always more to give, more to reach for, and more to become. Even beyond what was taught in school, I knew there was something greater. Through it all, my mother stood by me, encouraging every step of faith I took.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I used to struggle with the fear of speaking in public, all the way back to my school days. The hardest thing for me to do was read in school. But now I’ve learned to embrace it, standing on the truth that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Today, instead of running from my fear, I’m running toward my calling—sharing my story to inspire others and remind them that life isn’t breaking them…it’s making them.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I believe we’ve been taught the wrong way. From a young age, we’re trained to do—do this, do that—when in reality, we were created to become. We were made in the image and likeness of the Creator Himself, which means we were built to create—on purpose.

Everything that has ever been created first lived inside of someone. As Dr. Myles Monroe once said, “Abuse is inevitable if you don’t know the purpose of a thing.” If we truly honored each other’s purpose, we would begin to see life through a greater lens.

The truth is, there is so much on the inside of each of us. And when we really look within, we’ll realize—we’ll never be without.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Today, I can boldly say—I am finally becoming who I was born to be. I love sharing positive, inspiring messages and using my voice to uplift others. By sharing my own journey of overcoming fear, navigating grief, and embracing the creative gifts God placed within me, I help others discover the power of their own story.
