Elliot Freeman of Atlanta on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Elliot Freeman shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Elliot, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
The thing that’s been bringing me joy lately is getting closer with God and meeting new people – finding out more about their journey and what they do outside of their 9-5. I think it’s interesting when I ask people, “So, what do you do,” they’re always quick to tell me their job title/company they work for, but struggle with who they are without the title to their name.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Elliot Freeman. I’m a content creator and live events curator from Austell, GA and the founder of Fun Time Media, which is my creative hub for visual storytelling and experiences that bring people together. In 2020, I started my brand and coined the slogan “Enjoy every moment.”, which is used as a reminder for everyone to find joy in all that goes on in our everyday lives.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe what breaks the bonds between people is a lack of communication—when we stop listening, stop sharing, or assume instead of understanding. Miscommunication builds walls. What restores those bonds is the very thing that broke them: honest, intentional communication. When we take the time to truly listen, to speak with empathy, and to open ourselves to dialogue, we create space for healing, connection, and growth.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Most definitely. There’s been a few times where I almost gave up, and I feel like that’s natural for anybody that wants to be successful. Success doesn’t happen overnight and it’s not always easily achievable. I think what helps me in those moments is just continuing to put my trust in God and knowing that I’ve already come so far, so why would I give up now?

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my dad’s character. He always makes a conscious effort to remain true to himself and is honored and respected by everyone that knows him. The one thing I admire most about his character is that even though he’s built a good name for himself, he always stays humble and looks to God for guidance.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell the story of how my creative journey was not easy by any means, but that I never stopped pushing forward. I want my story to be one of resilience, of taking risks, and of creating space for others to shine. More than anything, I want people to remember that I used my creativity not just to build art, but to build connections, opportunities, and inspiration for those who came after me.
