Story & Lesson Highlights with Paradise Blu of Hyde Park

Paradise Blu shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Paradise, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day looks like:

1) Elevating my legs up against the wall to allow a nice circulation of blood flow.

2) A few stretches, crunches, squats & arm workouts to get my body moving & warmed up.

3) Make a hot cup of @yogitea “The Perfect Energy” Vanilla Spice kind.

3) Get an ice cube & rub it all over my face for the benefit of reducing puffiness and giving skin a natural glow.

4) Shower, get dressed for work & sometimes I make a quick breakfast or grab a bite on the way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Paradise Blu. An actress with a newfound love of Theater. I did my first play in November 2024 & I haven’t left the stage since. Each role and performance leads me into my next role & other opportunities. My next role is “Morticia The Ghost of Christmas To Come” in MIKA SCROOGE by Sheila Peele-Miller.

I started my acting career in 2015 doing background in some of Chicago’s most popular TV shows; EMPIRE, Chicago Med & THE CHI. I began to network with other actors, writers & producers and worked on a few independent short films of all genres.

I’m currently working on the second season of a sitcom series called “The Khaleel Show” on YouTube, it gives a nostalgic 90’s black sitcom, essence that is guaranteed to have you anticipating the next episode!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I believe what breaks the bonds of people from my experience is, the lack of communication & misunderstanding/ what restores them is being vulnerable & transparent in a conversation, expressing thoughts & feelings. Agreeing on accountability & discuss what went wrong & taking steps towards making it right so it wont happen again.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that if I continue to dwell on the past, I will never live in my present nor see my future.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I’n the public eye and on my social media, I appear to be such a happy & unbothered person.
People will always tell me, including family, “I never seen you mad. You’re so pleasant and youthful.”

Privately, I am just as vibrant, as I am publicly. I’m such a kid at heart & I adapt to any environment. I am true to myself.

Although nobody is perfect and we’re all human. I still get mad & stressed but I don’t dwell on my anger nor will I allow a bad mood to affect others around me. I don’t put misery on people.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m laying in bed, relaxing my mind and body preparing to go to sleep and anticipating a good symbolic dream that will communicate a meaningful message for me in the morning.
