Q shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Q, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m currently learning from a few portrait tattoo artists in the Atlanta area.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Q, I’m a tattoo artist and ALMTY Inks is my tattoo brand. I’m into photography and videography and I’m a barber lol.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Taking the time to do the work honestly. When you get into tattooing you realize fast it’s going to be a lot of practice with a steep learning curve.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me to truly value the smallest wins. Just being able to walk on your own, breathe on your own, etc those are some huge wins.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Time makes you a great artist. You can tattoo like crap for 15 years and that time has gone to waste because you chose to stop learning and improving.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If immortality were real, what would you build?
I would build my knowledge and create the world information library for every generation to reference as much history as possible.
