Story & Lesson Highlights with Dajah Hardy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dajah Hardy. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Dajah, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
That they really believe I can do and make anything … literally. It’s not surprising but it is

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello my name is Dajah Hardy aka Deja Vu. My brand/ business name is Deja Vu Closet. Meaning in remembrance. I crochet items and clothing for women, men and children. It is special to me because all my pieces are handmade with love. I’ve always had a thing for arts and crafts since a kid and knew I wanted to make my own clothing. I didn’t know it will be crochet though. But now we’re here. I’m currently working on my line for the kiddos and women right now.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful I would say is just being able to survive the trauma I endured early in life and overcoming obstacles that came about throughout teenage and early adulthood

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I almost gave up plenty of times but i looked back and seen how far I’ve came each time and the accomplishments I’ve made along the way and asked myself why would I give up now.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Definitely. Me behind closed doors and me in public is the same. Never had to fake a version and that’s what’s makes me unique from others

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m alone I feel the most at peace
