Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Dr. J (Jestacia Lanette)

We recently had the chance to connect with Dr. J (Jestacia Lanette) and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. J, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Prayer | Meditation and Movement~ my day begins with herbal coffee and time with God.

This indeed is the best way to start my day with clear intentions for myself, and all that do and lead. A spiritual blue print.

I outline my assignments on zen sunday- I call it. A day to rebalance and exhale.

This has saved my life and mind- over 30years, and makes me the best version of myself- in education, with patients and the community.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m working on and living my legacy project.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Certainly my faith walk… my relationship with God is paramount. Morning prayer/ mindful meditation is certainly a game changer. Over the years (with maturity), comes clarity.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Surrender. Sacrifice. Success.

You learn more about yourself when you slow down- be still- and allow yourself to heal from the inside out.

Only then, will you tap into your deepest creation and innovation- this only comes through stillness, which produces godly productivity.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Peace- still, tranquility. Love for others and selfcare.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
This is truly the first sign of inner success and conviction. Would you continue -with, or without praise. Those you are called to- will hear you loud and clear, and seek you out of the crowd.
