Hi Hallie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, exercising has been something that really brings me joy. It gives me a chance to clear my head, release stress, and feel more connected to myself. Whether I am going for a run, lifting weights, or simply moving my body, it helps me feel more energized and balanced in my day to day life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Hallie Driskell and I am the founder and designer behind HMD Studios. My brand is all about creating one of a kind designs with a focus on originality and detail. Fashion has always been a huge part of my life and I have been fortunate to work with brands such as SHEIN and Neiman Marcus, as well as Vogue for NYFW. What makes HMD Studios special is the focus on creativity, sustainability, and individuality. Every piece is designed to feel unique, giving clothing a second life while also allowing people to express themselves in a way that feels personal and original. I am currently working on a new collection that will be coming out very soon this year, and it is focused on streetwear which is a style I truly love and connect with.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My father, Darrick Driskell, has taught me the most about work and what it truly means to stay committed to your goals. He served 25 years in the military. Throughout my life I have watched him dedicate himself fully to everything he does with discipline, focus, and perseverance. He has always set the standard for what it means to work hard, but also to work with integrity and pride. His ability to overcome challenges and keep moving forward, no matter the circumstances, has been a constant source of inspiration for me. I consider him the smartest man I have ever known, and the lessons I have learned from him about resilience, determination, and believing in yourself continue to guide me in my own career and personal life

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was a child, fear felt big. But whenever I was scared or sad, talking to my mother, Valerie Driskell, always made things better. Her voice, her presence, the way she truly listened it all brought me comfort. I couldn’t find anywhere else. She didn’t just tell me everything would be okay; she made me believe it. Her calm, steady support made the world feel safe again. Even now, as an adult, her love still grounds me. Just hearing her voice reminds me that I’m not alone and that everything will be okay. I’m so grateful to have her, then and now.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A project I’m fully committed to, no matter how long it takes, is my clothing brand, HMD Studios. It’s more than just creating clothes. It’s about building something that reflects who I am, what I believe in, and the kind of impact I want to make. HMD Studios represents individuality, purpose, and creativity. I want it to connect with people and inspire confidence through style and self expression. I know it will take time, effort, and patience, but I’m dedicated to the journey. I believe in the vision, and I’m ready to keep pushing forward no matter how long it takes.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who was passionate and caring, someone who gave my full heart to the things and people I loved. I want them to say that I worked hard and stayed committed to my goals, no matter what life threw at me. That I didn’t give up, even when things were tough. I hope people see that I did my best, stayed true to myself, and always tried to lift others up along the way.
