Good morning Kate & Krista, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
celebrity gossip! haha. for some reason we always derail in the studio over some nonsense. the crushing weight of responsibility and lack of time pulls us back on track. still, these digressions are such a nice break in the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are Hayes Little Studio! Elegant and avant-garde, we bring a holistic, personal and artistic approach to our inspired studio of interiors, delivering a broad range of modern and eclectic environments.

Equally fluent in new builds, residential renovations, and commercial projects, founders Kate Hayes and Krista Little’s design process is explorative, collaborative and oftentimes thematic, with an intentional focus on creating evocative spaces focused on eliciting a particular feeling in time.

We are currently working on several exciting intown renovations, cosmetic overhauls, and a jewelry store,

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Kate: A creative, smiley kid who skipped everywhere she went and spent lots of time outside.

Krista: An unapologetically bossy child with a very overactive imagine.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Krista: You can be whoever you want to be when you grow up, and don’t need to listen to the naysayers.

Kate: Go easy on yourself, and be confident in your choices.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Both: As a partnership, we rely on each other’s!

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
Both: We feel most at peace when we are working with clients who we not only vibe with stylistically and design wise, but align with our company values. Makes the whole process so much more seamless!
