Elo Copeland on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Elo Copeland shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Elo, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something that has brought me joy lately is obtaining my scuba diving open water certification! I am ready to be on set on the next Deep Blue Sea or Meg, or any underwater production!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an Actress, Comedian, and content creator in Atlanta. I am SAG eligible. I was recently a part of a Secret Deodorant Commercial as a principal actress, I also have recent projects on Peacock, TVOne, Prime, Tubi, and YouTube. My recent changes have been growing my social media platforms, and several of my reaction videos on Facebook have since gone viral. I am currently a lead actress in the series “I Like Coffee, but I Love Tea,” written by Nandi Dawson, which will be released soon.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I’ve learned in life that broken, misleading, or no communication breaks bonds between people, and open, honest communication restores those bonds. Trying to live life holding your tongue or not speaking up for yourself does no one any good.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I have been reading the book “Conversations with God,”and a concept that has remained is that to know one thing is true, you must also experience the opposite of that thing, In that I know that to succeed in anything, I must also experience the failure. Suffering has taught me that I can navigate through life being grateful for everything, even when things get difficult.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I have a content persona that is the pubic version of me. It is a part of me, but it’s not all of me. I grew up very introverted for many reasons. Even today, I am reserved until I feel comfortable. I am just grateful that any part of me that I chose to share is felt and is bringing joy to those who watch and support me.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am doing what I was born to do, changing lives one laugh at a time. I thoroughly enjoy the reactions to my work and my content. I’ve always been witty, but I have been openly sharing my gift by increasing my social media presence.
