Spirit BUTTERFLY of Alpharetta on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Spirit BUTTERFLY. Check out our conversation below.

Spirit, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day is a ritualistic time period that enables me to align my thoughts, speech, and emotions with my desires, and the highest form of my Self…

I began by immediately affirming powerful self-concepts, and what I want to manifest for the day, as my consciousness shifts from the dream world, to my awakened state.

As I become fully conscious of my surroundings, I then replay a (10-20 minutes) guided deep meditation technique that allows me to focus more intensely on specific goals. I then complete my sacred practice by reading aloud to myself, looking into the mirror, gratitude statements for what I currently have, and/or expecting to manifest…

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I Am a Bronx, New York-born and Atlanta raised entrepreneur who has successfully developed DIGESTIBLE hair and skin products that consistently deliver amazing results for my customers and clientele!

As the Founder and Creative Director of FARASHA KAA, and FARASHA KAA Apparel, I have established myself in the Health and Beauty industries as an innovative trendsetter who creates specialty goods and services for the everyday consumer that desires to better themselves and their lifestyle, from a wholistic standpoint.

I have been recognized as a public figure in the entertainment and fashion industries for almost 25 years now; starting out in the early 2000’s as a talented hairstylist and magazine-published hair model, to later promoting artists (within well known record labels) and appearing (as a model) in low and high-budget music videos of celebrity performers… all while attending Clark Atlanta University with a major in Theater Arts. After my sophomore year at CAU, I eagerly dropped out to pursue a career in both music and screen-writing, and managed to appear in over 20 television shows and movies (as an actress) to date.

Currently, I am working with amazing Atlanta-based artists and producers to create an all-female music cypher. I am also very proud to announce my new podcast: A BUTTERFLY’s Affect: The GODDESS Of The Airwaves ™, in which I interview rising artists, entrepreneurs, and global ambassadors (from around the country) within the music industry through Sony Hulk Radio.

I am also revamping and rebranding one of my YouTube Channels, “Golden Skin Wavy Hair Jamaican,” into vlogs of lifestyle and beauty content dedicated to (and exclusively for) women of Caribbean, Afro-Latin, and American Culture and Heritage. This particular channel will be comprised of fashion tips, beauty tutorials, and cultural posts that advocate Caribbean and multi-cultural beauty.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
As I reflect on major past experiences in my life, including many recent events that have demanded my full attention and observation; I came to the realization that I have overly extended myself in ways that have left me emotionally exhausted and mentally fatigued.

I have given so much of my time, my support, my counsel, my love, my blood, sweat, my tears, my heart, my attention, resources, patience, my word, money, and my trust to thousands upon thousands of people without first considering my own goals and/or feelings.

The parts of myself that I shared openly and willingly, yet should have kept secret; and other aspects to where I stayed silent, when I should have opened up and expressed how I truly felt. Being the giver and nurturer to see others happy, yet feeling unappreciated, undermined, and confined is a self inflicted pain that burns deep within the soul…

Being a beacon of light and hope in a world of darkness and chaos is a gift and a curse. My soul was chosen to spark global change and transformation, yet at the expense of what? I now realize that this is where my world changed. I have now fulfilled the mission of giving wholeheartedly unto others before myself for the sake of “being supportive,” “being a team player,” “being understanding and unproblematic,” “being a good partner,” “being a good parent,” or “being a good woman.”

I have released the need to give my attention, time, and energy to anyone or anything, before my own feelings and necessities, no matter how minute or grand the situation may be. That version of me have served ‘her’ purpose, so that the authentic, redefined, unapologetic, truth-living Self can now flourish…

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes. Definitely. There have been many times that I almost gave up. In fact, I just had an episode of, “I Give Up,” last week!

As we navigate through intense emotions, feelings, and daily experiences in a human bodysuit on this planet we call life, it is quite natural to feel the ebbs and flows of frequencies and energies. Realizing that the only true control we have is of our own thoughts, and responses to outside stimuli, I have come to the conclusion that it is actually healthy to relinquish control over certain aspects of your life to maintain peace and sanity.

My definition of “giving up” is doing the best that I can do in any given situation, and after imprinting positive thoughts and wishes surrounding the particular situation, allow it to naturally unfold as an observer of the situation, all while maintaining my truth and uplifting my goals.

Having a strong spiritual belief system can assist substantially, as “giving up” with trust and faith allows for a situation or circumstance to naturally resolve in order and perfect alignment with unseen forces.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie that the leading industry’s heavy-hitters tell the average lightweights is, “your not ugly, you’re just broke…”

This statement refers to the everyday person who possesses average to less-than-desirable physical features and attributes. It suggests that people with financial independence are more attractive than low income-earning individuals. This statement also alludes that anyone can profit from the privileges and benefits of being beautiful, as long as they can financially afford to successfully alter their body in a more aesthetically pleasing manner.

The truth is, money cannot buy self-esteem, a good character, nor a vibrant personality. I have witnessed hundreds of people who were not typically considered the most attractive, yet had a heart of gold, which emanated as an aura of welcoming beauty. I have also witnessed the energy and likeness of women, who surgically enhanced themselves to fit a particular societal standard, only to appear less physically attractive after they opened their mouths to speak, or displayed volatile behavioral patterns.

Agreeable dispositions and inner qualities of authenticity, welcoming demeanors, sense of humor, age-reversal (youthfulness), vitality, passion, sense of purpose, kindness, and agility are all traits of true beauty. Physically beauty attracts attention and commands praise, however, inner beauty exalts in honor, and promises longevity.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, the main thing I feel that my customers, clientele, supporters, and fans will miss the most is their accessibility to my energy.

Many people connect with me that inadvertently demand my attention, inquiring information, assistance, support, advice, or services that I render through any direct line of communication, such as cell phone numbers, emails, social media platforms, and physical locations.

I have been told, from numerous customers and supporters, that I bring joy into their lives, and that my personality is magnetic, nurturing, and alluring. Many people connect with me as a form of therapy while listening to my viewpoints, opinions, and visions. I am a wish fulfilled, and a breath of fresh air to many who finds a guilty pleasure in vicariously living through me…
