Michael Barringer of Lilburn, GA on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Michael Barringer shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Michael, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I enjoy taking care of our rock garden with its perennials, and tending to our vegetable garden.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a fine artist, and I make paintings in my studio, here in Lilburn, Georgia. I have an undergraduate degree from UNC – Chapel hill, and did graduate work at Georgia State, studying with Medford Johnston.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I remember as a young kid having some talent with my drawing, and other people usually were interested in that, and they often respected me for this ability.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t worry so much about other people’s opinions – have confidence in your passions.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my wife of 33 years, Mindy – she is the most honest, and loyal person I have ever known.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a loyal friend, and loving person to my family, and others.
