Hi Reshonda, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Hands down its spending time with my 2 year old twin granddaughters. Seeing them grow and their individual personalities. Teaching them things and watching them develop. They love to sing, play games, watch movies and nature,
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Of course, I am Reshonda Jacobs founder and formulator of Peace & Love Healing. Peace & Love Healing is an all natural, organic and handmade bath, body, skin care and luxury candles. We have the number one turmeric collection which consist of pain relief body butter, turmeric cleansing bar and foot soak. What makes Peace & Love Healing unique from others is that mostly any skin type can use our products. Normal skin to eczema or psoriasis, you will notice a difference. Our customers have noticed major results, and they keep coming back.
We now have a baby fresh body butter and the results have been fantastic! Babies and children no longer have to suffer from eczema and the rash that is cause. We introduce my granddaughter’s Ayva & Aniya Baby Fresh Body Butter.
Also, what makes us unique is if someone is allergic to an ingredient, we can customize the body butter to fit their needs.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I use to think that I wasn’t good enough. I was the cute, but chunky girl. I never really felt like I belonged.
I have always been unique and never followed the crowd.
Now I know who I am and who’s I am. Unique because that’s the way God made me. I am where I am because God has me here. Although it’s not where I want to be, it’s not where I used to be. I’ve had to overcome so much during my life, and still a work in progress. If my Lord Jesus has not given up on me, then why should I? No! I will keep fighting,
My father thinks so much of me that he gave me Peace & Love Healing and entrusted his children in my hands when it comes to skin care, relaxation, encouragement, love, laughter, joy and more when you come in contact with our Peace & Love Healing Representative.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Overcoming domestic violence over 20 years ago. The turning point was the last time I was hit, which was probably the hardest. I lost my hearing in one ear for a short time, and I’m almost positive I saw birds circling above my head.
That was the day God Turnt, Yes, Turnt, changed, delivered me and made me powerful. Healing from that took years, but I had to search how I ended up in that relationship in the first place. That is really what I had to acknowledge and heal from.
All siblings are not family, and all relatives don’t want the best for you.
I was born into a combined family, me being the youngest and 7th child. I was the only child. My heart was so for family and love, but they didn’t love me. Of course my parents loved me, but siblings, I think they hated me because I was born.
God created me in His image and for a greater purpose. Knowing that kept me filled with Joy, Love and forgiveness over time.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Writing my book, it’s not to tell my business, but and book to help others from my life stories so far. The situations I had to overcome or just get over. I want to encourage others that see no way out and want to give up on themselves. That’s when you push harder and trust the Lord Jesus. Tap into your strengths and the love within you. I want to finish my book.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I absolutely love to travel, pool side or ocean side, gives me peace. It also gets my creativity flowing and conversations with my Heavenly Father. I receive direction and clarity. Don’t get me wrong, I get those anytime, but when I am most at peace are those places.
