We recently had the chance to connect with Dean Alsetto and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Dean , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Who are you learning from right now?
I’m learning from my own experiences and my own mistakes
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dean Alsetto im a song writer a singer a fan we a rapper and a perfromer. Over the last 8 years that I been involved with music my brand has always been about confidence self love and being bold and breaking down stereotypes about people like myself. My self titled album is something I’ve been working on for a while it comes out in February of 2026 and what’s so special about it is it’s my first project ever and it’s so overdue what’s so unique about it? Every thing from the imagery the lyrics the vibe it gives I enjoy producing feel good music baby making music I’m not too much of a heartbreak kind of guy so that’s something you wont see me do too often. Im a black gay artist and im proud of that I do this for me and others who may don’t have the strength to step out of their comfort zone to do what they wanna do hopefully I can touch someone and help them believe in themselves jus like how I had help to believe that I can do anything humanly possible if I dedicate myself and work for it that’s the brand believe in yourself u can only make your dreams come true.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’ve always loved to entertain but before that I use to play basketball all the way up to high school and I think 11th grade is when I decided that’s something I was groomed to do but it wasn’t my calling to do.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh gosh almost every damn day but I’m human you know not every day I feel wonderful and full of joy I have my times when I don’t wanna do this anymore but I always remind myself god gave you a gift don’t ever think he that he won’t take it away if it’s taken for granted.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes however there are certain versions the public would never see I’m very private but I’m also open in certain areas
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My live performances my outfits my charisma my energy my music and my sound
