Today we’d like to introduce you to Stoopidbeatz Brince Elam.
Hi Stoopidbeatz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started music as a kid in school . I played drums from middle school to high school marching band, it grew from working with other upcoming artist from my hood .I had a mentor for a few yrs who was very heavy in the industry making me his protégé , intern , and assistant . I learned studio engineering while producing which shape me and prepared me for the obstacles in the industry and my first big record with Rich homie Quan from there I ended up working with more a list artist from Yfn Lucci , TK kravitz, Tokyo Jetz , Derez Deshon , Ralo , future , young scooter, trouble, Bankroll fresh, Young Dolph , etc. my ambition put me on the hot 100s hip hop billboard list and going gold and platinum very fast . I’ve been the starting point for many artist out of Atlanta being apart of there first big record . Today I have teamed up with Atlanta own super producer DunDeal as a A&R and producer as well . Together creating a new aura and a new Atlanta with a touch of Atlanta’s nostalgic influence from the past . Today I’m 5x gold 2x platinum and charted billboard and still counting .
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Was not a smooth road . Dealing with personal issues of life and the issues of artist deaths and incarcerations tend to discourage you sometimes especially when you have a genuine bond with the artist . I went thru a depression when I lost good friends of mines in the industry making me not wanna do music no more . It was rough I lost the passion for music seeing I was loosing my peers of the industry.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known for rich homie Quan first big single “Differences” . TK n cash “mind right” . Yfn Lucci “ unstoppable “ etc . One of my proud moments is charting billboard with TK n cash not everybody is going to earn a gold or platinum plaque. That’s hard work it take a lot of pieces and mechanics to achieve that . When I work I don’t work for trying to make a dollar cause good work will bring the money ,it speaks for itself. I pride on actually helping an artists grow to evolve into something they don’t even think they could do . I want to leave an imprint on earth , something that my kids along with people can look up and see forever. I’m not a email kind of producer . I prefer to work with the artists, exchange ideas bring in the pieces needed to make a hit record .
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mom for letting me find what is me vs making me do what she want.
My mentor Poe , I wouldn’t even know how to engineer , produce let alone anything studio related
Rich homie Quan for blessing me with his craft and skill , if it wasn’t for him the world wouldn’t even know me.
Friends along the way for pushing me , plugging me in with who they know
Most of all god , we are nothing with out him . He has got me thru some of the hardest darkest days of my life that I wouldn’t wish nobody had to experience. Faith and ambition got me far. And I’m looking fwd to see what’s next .
