Meet Selena Richardson of Hair by Selena and Offscript Love LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Richardson.

Hi Selena , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a young teenage girl, I started out playing around with my friends hair at about the age of 14. I started doing hair in kenosha, Wisconsin in my neighborhood! It was something that just came naturally to me. I knew then that this was something that I really enjoyed as well. I tried to run away from it for a minute, but it just kept coming back. So I eventually went to school to get my Master Cosmetology License and graduated in 2011.. Went on to working on video shoots and movie sets and some fashion shows while I investing in starting my hair care line called “Selena’s Oil Organics” hair care oil. I then got into investment properties. I later started a management company, purchased sprinter vans and put them on the road. I recently wrote at small quide that is now in Amazon about dating called “Ask Questions First” also while building my newest venture with my husband called Offscript Love where you go on a journey with us about our love story, writing books, voiceover work, doing skits as well as partnering with BbpEnt creating The Soule Experience, a short in person series where we have a live band , wonderful meal and great libations in a private location. I also do voiceover work. Hard work and perseverance got me where I am today! I still have more to do!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Was it easy? No not at all! Lol! When I started cosmetology school, I was working nights and going to school during the day being away from my kids at times. Thank goodness I had my parent’s with me. It was such a big help. That was the hardest part, but I was determined. I had just purchased my first home 2 months before starting class and I needed to make more income. I eventually started working in a salon and used money from my full time job to pay my booth rent. Boy oh boy sacrifice and determination. With everything it’s a price, like building income to pay for my hair oil company as well as purchasing vans for my management company at the time and learning the ins and outs of logistics.! I’ve always said to self “you gotta go through something to get to something” if you really want it. You gotta put the work in. I feel like everything you go through in life there’s a lesson, so you learn from it and grow and make the best of it.

My business was created to supply great customer service and a place to feel like family, while giving my customers knowledge about their hair, treating thier hair with a multitudes of services! What I’m most proud of is I have been able build great relationships with amazing people and being able to make connections in business and connecting others. The company OffScript Love LLC that my husband and I have together provides content about love and relationships with my husband and I, skits, couples events and speaking engagements. Giving you a journey through our story when my husband and I met when he was about to go through cancer treatments. We provide public speaking about couples and relationships! As well as individual speaking out about domestic violence. I absolutely love everything that I do and I love people.

What are your plans for the future?
Yes yes! Great changes! Looking forward to building a wine company with my husband & creating interactive events with painting, wine pairing which is already in the works with a company called Reflexion wine! Doing more podcast and speaking engagements on platforms that would like to have us on. Definitely purchasing property to keep building and providing employment for others. Diving more into charity work as well. I truly cannot wait for what’s to come!
