Conversations with Morgan Stroope

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Stroope.

Hi Morgan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have loved art and creating things for as long as I can remember. After having my first child back in 2018, I was looking for a creative outlet and a way to get back into the art that I have always enjoyed. I had some “hand me down” tools from my parents thought I would try my hand at wood art. Nature was a huge part of my childhood and it greatly inspires my work as an artist.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Over the years, I have learned to balance motherhood and growing my skill and small business. I love this path for myself because I have the ability to care for my young kids and weave work into the day when I’m able to.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for my nature inspired wood art pieces that are 100% handcrafted and made with hardwoods.
I’m passionate about drawing inspiration from the places I love most in the world. The mountains and trees are where I feel most at home.
I also love making custom wood art for my wonderful clients. Helping them bring nature into their homes makes me so happy.
Some of my favorites are the botanical pieces I’ve made that represent the flower/trees of the states where my customers has lived.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up spending a lot of time outdoors in my favorite place, Idaho.
My memories are shaped by camping in the mountains and swimming in lakes. The sawtooth mountains and McCall Idaho will always be my strongest inspiration.
Having these beautiful places to reference has helped me along the way with my art.
And spending time there gives me the best boost to keep creating.
