Rising Stars: Meet Parker Blue of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Blue.

Hi Parker, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Parker Nathaniel Blue. I am a musician and content creator. I got started creating in all different mediums when I was pretty young. Writing was my first love and aided me when I began to songwrite. I have always admired the arts and wanted to capture love in all its forms through my work. I have used my love of art to connect to others through music and video mainly.. Fashion as well. I also use my love of creating videos to make them on my social media. To share my thoughts and life story as a Black, queer disabled artist. My only goal is to make magic happen through creation and share it with others

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In terms of creating, that came effortlessly. I always gravitated towards poetry, reading. I always listened to music and sang along as often as possible. I always loved cinematography and editing videos. So when it all came together over the years I’ve been proud of that. There have been a lot of struggles around initiating. Allowing me to take myself more seriously. Trusting that my creation deserves to be shared. Believing that I can go after any idea I want to craft into the world and actualize it. Navigating people who felt otherwise and tuning them out. Releasing my insecurities and just being my full self in what I do has helped a lot

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make content online. I share stories about my life. I also make music about different types of emotions and love is often the theme. I would say I’m known for both. I am most proud of my ability to capture an experience through song and bring it to life for others to sit with. It is important to me to be thorough in the expression of big and small feeling. I love to tackle that in my music. I have my own style and way of expressing myself. I am proud to be my authentic self
