Hi Rob, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi, I’m Rob Sets, and I’ve been a music lover my entire life. DJing is the way I express that love; it is my art form. However, it took me some time to find it.

I’m originally from Detroit, MI. I moved to Atlanta 10 years ago, and it changed everything. While here, I spent years in corporate, before I finally bet on myself and pursued what truly lights me up.

Now I’m doing what I was always meant to do – curating experiences, moving crowds, and creating moments people never forget. I started off small by posting my DJ mixes on YouTube, DJing small gatherings with friends, and spinning at local restaurants.

As I continued to get better and book more events, my following started to grow and the rest is history. I’ve been blessed with residency opportunities, private events, corporate events, weddings and more. I’ve been having fun with it, and I’m excited for the opportunities ahead.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No roads are 100% smooth. I’ve been enjoying the journey. I believe in showing up, working hard, connecting with people, and being grateful for every opportunity.

As you know, we’re big fans of Rob Sets. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Rob Sets is my brand and my business — I’m an Atlanta-based open format DJ and vibe curator. I create intentional atmospheres that move people and amplify the businesses I partner with. What sets me apart is my ability to collaborate with venues, brands, and businesses to elevate their events and drive results. Venues who work with me consistently see significant increases in sales and foot traffic on nights I perform.

My services span multiple lanes — from high energy residencies and corporate events to weddings and private celebrations. I’m known for versatile sets that bring every crowd together regardless of age or background. I’m based in Atlanta but available to travel for the right opportunity.

On the digital side I’ve built a rapidly growing YouTube presence with 11,500 subscribers and a loyal social media following who support both online and in real life.

I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built. Business owners trust me to show up and deliver. Couples trust me to create the soundtrack to one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

Lastly, I’m proud of myself.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and foremost- God.

My wife has been my biggest supporter, my loudest cheerleader, and my strongest advocate. I’ve forever grateful for her.

I’m also grateful for Mike & Sena Waldo, owners of Divinely Elegant Vines – a Black-owned wine tasting room in Austell, GA. They took a chance on me and gave me my first residency. That opportunity changed everything.
