Hidden Gems: Meet Tangee Peek of The Toddler Tutor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tangee Peek.

Hi Tangee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Wow!
The story of the Toddler Tutor started with a prayer in 2018. At the time, I was a second grade teacher who had recently completed a masters degree in curriculum and instruction. I loved being a teacher but it had become like second nature to me. I always thrive best with a challenge. As I was preparing for bed, I began to pray… asking God for what my next assignment was as an educator. Upon laying down, I experienced what can only be described as a “download”. I was flooded with ideas that I had to hurry to write down. What I wrote at the very top of the notepad was The Toddler Tutor. I’d never said those words. Below I wrote down so many ideas for individualized instruction, helping children learn to read, being a consultant to childcare facilities and so much more! I was in awe and so motivated! I called a fellow edupreneur and told her all about it. She instantly said that this was a MILLION DOLLAR business! Over the next few years, there were ebbs and flows. I finally relaunched in 2021 and have been “getting busy” ever since.

A declaration I made in my home really changed everything. In December 2021, while standing in my dining room, I said out loud, “Lord I want to see The Toddler Tutor under Christmas trees”. Before this time, I was creating personalized learning boxes for children to engage them in learning their academic foundational skills that were a big hit! Fast forward to October of 2022 and a friend asked me if I could make a busy book. I had no idea what it was. I looked at a few and then set out to create the very first personalized Spiderman Busy Book for my Godson. From that point on, I was determined to make the Busy Book as engaging and efficient for learning as possible. I incorporated QR code linked educational videos that matched the concept on each page because my toxic teacher trait is that I don’t think anyone knows anything unless I taught them! LOL. By November, I had the ability to create and sell my Early Learning Busy Book to my community.
On Christmas morning 2023, a friend sent me a picture of her grandson sitting in front of her Christmas tree! God heard me again.
In 2023, I was faced with the difficult decision of choosing my career or business. My business won. I have since sold hundreds of Busy Books, provided personalized learning sessions for children, spoken at the biggest ECE conference in the world twice, influence tens of thousands on social media to be their child’s first teacher, partnered with a ground breaking community hub that successfully fuses homeschool, a coworking space, and the need to gather into one space and so much more. What’s. exciting it that. there is more to come!

I would not be here without God, my village, and my audacity to be obedient to the path He has set me on. I am grateful every day,

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As I mentioned before, there have been ebbs and flows, The greatest obstacle I face is myself. I have to remind myself that this is the one thing I can do that I can be the best in the world in doing. I had to detach and heal from a limited version of myself. Remaining obedient has gotten me this far so I am encourage to stay the course.

The Toddler Tutor specializes in providing engaging and meaningful early learning resources and experiences for children ages 2-6 years old. Our flagship product we are most known for is the Early Learning Interactive Busy Book! All of our Busy Books are interactive in three ways: the hands on tactile activity with velcro pieces, the dry erase activity and the QR code that are all connected on each page!
