Exploring Life & Business with Faith Hobbs of Organic Hydroponics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Hobbs.

Hi Faith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Last time I had the chance to interview with VoyageATL, I was operating Open Your Eyes Merch in 2017-2018. From launching t-shirts and participating in vendor events to bringing awareness to a rare auto-immune disease called, uveitis, which is when your immune system attacks the uvea part of the eye, I have since transformed Open Your Eyes Merch into Organic Hydroponics. Cultivating wellness by being health centered still and expanding the experience of holistic health for everyone. Organic Hydroponics’ products dive deeper into wellness attention by reducing flare-ups in organic and/or hydroponic produce, holistic products such as lymphatic drainage tools, and health supplements thus far.

The focus is always to center wellness and create more probable options towards immune system health boosts. I prioritize holistic health due to remedies in my personal experience with uveitis. These changes have been immensely life changing to the point that I wanted to share my health contributions and eliminate/reduce inflammation, as inflammation is one of the prime causes to flare-ups. Open Your Eyes t-shirts had eye catching embroideries and graphics that I either hand-sewn or made on Adobe or even Paint! I would screen print the shirts and sell at pop-ups for creators such as Raury: In the Woods, Art Basel pop up in Atlanta with King of Pop designs who made the Rap Snacks design, and Atlanta Streetwear Market. Profits made from t-shirt sales were then donated to auto-immune and uveitis charities. Now, I am more direct with customers with pouring into wellness and developing organic soursop gummies, elderberry gummies, etc. Although, both business models prioritize affordable products that are high quality and creative. Not only have both business models have been a vendor for other’s events but Organic Hydroponics has also had its solo event since then such as the 7 Chakras event in Ponce City Market. Also, collaborating with Anytime Fitness, co-sponsoring an event with Topo-Chico and providing fresh organic mint for VIP guests and garnishing drinks. Organic Hydroponics has also implemented healthy organic fast food by creating a parking lot drive thru in Buckhead Atlanta starting in September 2025 serving whole foods such as organic biscuit with free range fried chicken, homemade bagel options with organic flour, and even to-go charcuterie boards that included organic celery + carrots, caviar, organic fig, and smoked salmon. However, shall the shirts continue their journey in Organic Hydroponics?

Both Organic Hydroponics and Open Your Eyes have been sold online and at events. However, I have also since then obtained my Georgia real estate license and aim to be the commercial real estate agent to close the deals for a commercial lease for Organic Hydroponics and turn it into a franchise. I like the transparency and direction of operating Organic Hydroponics’ grocery store + drive-thru and being the real estate agent able to do so; which is a great way to expand wellness.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Launching Organic Hydroponics publicly in April 2023 but filing the Organic Hydroponics Llc January 2022 has faced obstacles before launching and filing the LLC publicly. One of the challenges would be the COVID outbreak in 2020. Seeing health be a barrier socially and professionally was difficult to witness. I was also in the middle of coordinating a launch for Open Your Eyes in late February 2020 and the outbreak kept unraveling into something that the creative team that I hired and I could have imagined thus delaying our photoshoot for Open Your Eyes Merch newest unreleased launch at that time. Having to take a step back and prioritize social distancing allowed me to think intentionally about what am I really creating and how could it positively affect many others. I had to think, “What are more ways to bring awareness to wellness and have it infiltrate my customers even more?”

After contemplation, Organic Hydroponics came to be. I would also say pursuing my Georgia real estate license while running a business has been difficult all the while. I was able to have multiple launches and marketing campaigns throughout my real estate licensing journey but it also made it easier as one of my reminders as to what this is all for. My real estate notes helped me organize ways to grow my business and how to utilize my real estate career as future capital to further operate my business to be my own investor.
