Meet Sabrina Jenkins of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Jenkins.

Hi Sabrina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story really started with something very simple: I wanted to create a space where women could come together, enjoy themselves, build genuine friendships, and experience sisterhood outside of their everyday responsibilities.

That vision eventually became Destiny Dash Brunch Club, or DDBC. What started as women simply coming together over brunch grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined. Over the years, we’ve created memories, celebrated milestones, traveled, supported one another through difficult seasons, given back to our community, and most importantly, built real relationships.

I’ve learned a lot along the way about leadership, friendship, and even myself. Leading a group of women with different personalities, backgrounds, and experiences isn’t always easy, but it has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. I’ve learned that sisterhood isn’t about everyone always agreeing or everything always being perfect. It’s about creating a space where women can show up as themselves, feel supported, and know they belong.

Today, when I look at DDBC and think about how far we’ve come, I’m extremely proud. Something that started with a simple idea has grown into a community and a sisterhood that has touched so many women. And after all these years, I still get excited about bringing women together, creating experiences, giving back, and finding new ways for us to celebrate one another.

I think that’s really the heart of my story: I created the type of sisterhood I wanted to see, and somewhere along the way, it became bigger than me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Anytime you bring together a group of women with different personalities, backgrounds, expectations, and life experiences, there are going to be challenges and DDBC has been no exception.

One of my biggest lessons has been learning that everyone will not always understand or agree with the vision, and that’s okay. I’ve had to learn not to take everything personally. There have been misunderstandings, personality differences, friendships that changed, members who came and went, and moments when I questioned whether I wanted to continue.

Another challenge has been carrying the responsibility that comes with being the founder. People often see the brunches, the pictures, the laughter, the themes and all the fun, but they don’t always see what happens behind the scenes the planning, problem-solving, sacrifices, difficult conversations, and the pressure of trying to create something that everyone can enjoy.

Over the years, I’ve also learned that sisterhood doesn’t mean there will never be conflict. Real sisterhood is learning how to navigate those moments with maturity, accountability, boundaries, and grace.

But every challenge has helped me grow. I’ve learned when to listen, when to make adjustments, when to stand firm in my decisions, and sometimes when to simply let people go with love.

After all these years, I can say the difficult moments have been just as important as the beautiful ones because they helped shape DDBC into what it is today. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but it has definitely been worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Professionally, I work in airline catering and account management, where I manage the day-to-day needs of international airline customers. My role requires me to wear many hats customer relations, operations, problem-solving, planning, quality, and sometimes putting out fires before anyone even realizes there was one!

Outside of my professional career, my creative outlet and passion is Destiny Dash Brunch Club. I love creating experiences. I’m the person who can start with a simple idea and turn it into an entire theme, event, or moment that people remember. For me, it’s never just about choosing a restaurant and having brunch. I think about the details, the meaning behind the event, how women will feel when they walk into the room, and what they will take away when they leave.

I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy bringing people together. Whether I’m managing an airline account or planning an experience for DDBC, I’m always thinking ahead, paying attention to details, solving problems, and making sure people feel taken care of.

What I’m most proud of is being able to balance a demanding professional career while continuing to build something that I’m passionate about. DDBC has allowed me to use a completely different side of myself my creativity, my love for sisterhood, my desire to serve my community, and my ability to turn a vision into something tangible.

I guess you could say professionally I manage experiences, and personally I create them.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’ve always loved books. I’m an avid reader, and more recently I’ve added audiobooks into the mix, which has allowed me to enjoy even more stories while balancing such a busy life. Reading is an escape for me, but I also believe there’s something to learn from every story about people, relationships, resilience, and even yourself.

I also believe strongly in taking time to reflect, pray, meditate, and simply be still. Life can get extremely busy between my career, DDBC, family, friendships, and everything else, so having moments where I can quiet everything around me and reconnect with myself is important.

But one of my greatest resources is simply life experience. At this stage of my life, I’ve learned to pay attention to the lessons life gives me the good ones and the uncomfortable ones. I listen to people, I learn from my experiences, and I’m always open to growing.

I don’t think doing your best in life comes from having one perfect book, app, or podcast. For me, it comes from continuing to learn, staying grounded, protecting my peace, and never becoming too old or too accomplished to grow.
