Daily Inspiration: Meet Cato

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cato.

Hi Cato, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Cato and I’m the creator of Comma Club Podcast. I started out in music as an artist. Since a child I always had an infatuation with the entertainment business as well as the radio. I would call up to talk radio stations and fake like I was older than I was just for them to take my points seriously lol. As I got older and had been doing music for so many years I realized I wanted to use my voice in a different way. I had no broadcast experience so I knew the radio was out the door. I then discovered podcasting. I went and got my brother (Rudder), Childhood friend (Jah) and cousin (cannon) and put together what you see today Comma Club Podcast.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and No! Anything you’re new to doing will have its ups and downs. Building an audience and establishing trust with your audience was a difficult thing. Especially because we’re new to the Podcasting community. Being consistent and our audience knowing that we will always have product for them was key to building that trust. They know every Saturday we’ll have something new for them. On the other hand like I said earlier I come from music. I know how to build the audience and I also know how important it is to stay consistent.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the host of Comma Club Podcast. A show about current events and entertainment. I’m most proud of my team. Rudder, Jah, and Cannon! The way that they’ve stepped in to this arena just as clueless as me and still show up every week and deliver is commendable and it shows me I chose the right people to go on this journey with! What sets us apart is our commitment and consistency! As well as the fact that we’re just being ourselves. You’ll never have to worry about fitting in when you’re just being yourself.

What were you like growing up?
I loved sports and music. I mean I wrote my first rap when I was 8 years old! lol. I always had drive as well. I never wanted to fail. And I still carry that with me today except I handle my failures a lot differently than I did as a kid. Today I more so embrace failure and learn from it. Getting older you learn failure builds character if you channel it the right way.
