Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianne Atkinson.

Hi Brianne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Around 14 years old, I started styling friends hair and eventually went into business for myself gained a small clientele and began traveling to clients houses. Once I finish high school I went straight to cosmetology school. When I graduated from cosmetology school, I began my entrepreneurship journey.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth, but it has been very gratifying.
After graduating cosmetology school, I became pregnant and involved in an abusive marriage. After finally getting a divorce, I worked long hard hours as a single parent to provide for my children. Now after over 20 years, they are both college educated and doing well. The journey has been rocky with ups and downs, but I’m thankful for how far God has brought me..

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed colorist with over 28 years of experience in the beauty industry. I operate a few nbusinesses in Wichita, Kansas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Auburn, Alabama. I specialize in dimensional color and textured haircuts. I’m most proud of being able to build businesses from the ground up and witness the fruits of my labor.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned along my journey is knowing how to pivot. Life is filled with swift transitions, and you must learn how to adjust to change.
