Today we’d like to introduce you to Nailah Copeland.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my company Asha’s Salon & Spa, llc in August 2006. I found my first salon location in Decatur GA 2007. It seems like yesterday. I am honored to still be in business 20 years later.
The hair industry is constantly changing and moving forward. I believe my willingness to grow and learn has allowed me to stay relevant. I enjoy the fabric of hair and the many ways you can create with it.
I am happy to say that I have been a part of the industry for over 2 decades and I want to see what is yet to come.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have had my own personal challenges as life challenges us all. I have also had the economical challenges we have all had to endure. The housing market in 2008, the covid pandemic, and now the rising cost of inflation.
We’ve been impressed with Asha’s Salon & Spa, llc , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I provide hair care for all hair types. I have been able to create hair color, extensions, cuts, and straightening services for men, women children of all people.
The ability to provide services for all and customize each clients experience is what truly sets me apart from others. My hunger for knowledge has allowed me to learn how to provide each client with their own hair care routine.
I am most proud of providing clients with a salon experience that they can look forward to. I have tried to always create an experience that my clients would be comfortable from start to finish.
I want clients to have all of their needs and wants met. I have zoom consultations to ensure that their in person visits meet their personal expectations. I give my clients meal options, music choices, and even additional beauty care services that they may be introduced to.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
There have been so many things and people that i have been a positive influence on me and my business practices. I have been as intrigued bu business as I have by hair. I was fortunate enough to grow up around some very influential business people and I have listened and paid attention since I was a child.
Basic principles guide me. Treat people the way you want to be treated. I enjoy being treated well.
