Conversations with Keosha Moon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keosha Moon.

Hi Keosha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started with a Cricut and an idea to create personalized gifts for my cheerleaders. That one idea led to selling spirit items as a fundraiser for our team. Two Cricut machines later, I realized that I enjoyed the process of creating things with my hands and that I was pretty good at it! Fast forward to New Year’s Eve 2019. I went to church and the message was centered around 2019 being the Year of Investment. This message changed my life and I decided to invest in MYSELF. For me, this meant not squandering my gifts and turning what I once considered a hobby into a full-fledged business! Out of this decision, The Pink Sweat Shop was born on January 4, 2019. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind – full of lessons, personal growth, record business growth and above all else, BLESSINGS. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to do something that I truly love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has been one full of lessons learned and challenges overcome. Because I’m self-taught, I had to learn everything on my own. YouTube and trial and error were my best friends! I had to find the right equipment, the best materials and reliable vendors. This took patience and the willingness to explore, research and try new things. It took me about a year to get to a place where I really felt like I was coming into my own as a designer and professional within the custom apparel industry. Another challenge for me was navigating social media. Early on, I knew that having a strong presence on social media would be crucial. The problem was that I wasn’t really that active on social media personally. You’re looking at someone who can go months without posting on my personal pages! As such, this is an area where I’ve really had to push myself. To date, I’ve built a community through my social media presence and I look forward to continuing to grow in this area.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in customizing shirts and apparel using heat transfer vinyl. I am known for my clean designs, attention to detail and use of bold colors. As an artist, I create statement designs using unique and pithy sayings. In addition to customizing apparel for clients, I also launched my own brand in 2021, Pink Merch. Further, I create SVG files for other creatives and sell them on Etsy. I’m most proud of the consistency in the quality of my designs and work. I work extremely hard to continue to improve my craft from an artistic and technical standpoint.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I have a kiosk in Greenbriar Mall located in Southwest Atlanta. The kiosk is open on Saturdays. Clients are able to place orders and pick them up there. Custom and Pink Merch items can also be purchased at any time on my website. Likewise, I’m available to discuss collaborations via email or phone.
