Today we’d like to introduce you to Daryl Boothe.
Hi Daryl, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Daryl Boothe, and before I became known as a producer and recording artist, I built my career as a designer and creative director. Design was my first passion. I spent years developing brands, creating apparel, illustrating artwork, designing album covers, and building visual identities inspired by hip hop, streetwear, anime, and futuristic storytelling. That foundation taught me how to think beyond a single medium and create complete creative worlds.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with influential artists, brands, and organizations, including Master P, MrBeast, Sprayground, 1937 Group (TerpKings), Dead Prez, and Wooter Apparel. My creative work has also been featured across major media platforms, including The Breakfast Club, Complex, Everyday Struggle, and numerous other music, fashion, and entertainment outlets. My work has also earned recognition from legendary designer Jeff Hamilton, who gave high praise to my creative work. That acknowledgment continues to inspire me to push my craft even further.
Music eventually became the next chapter of my creative journey. I taught myself music production, songwriting, recording, and engineering so I could have complete creative control over my vision. Today, I produce, write, record, and creatively direct nearly every aspect of my work through Rebel G Society Records, from the music and visuals to the branding, merchandise, and films that surround each release.
My sound blends industrial hip hop, electronic music, dancehall, alternative rap, and experimental production, while my visual work is influenced by cinema, graphic novels, fashion, and contemporary art. I don’t see music and design as separate disciplines. They are part of the same creative language. Every project I release is built from the ground up, combining storytelling, sound, and design into a single artistic vision.
Everything I create is driven by originality, ownership, and independence. Whether I’m producing a record, directing a short film, designing apparel, or developing original intellectual property, my goal is to build experiences that challenge convention, inspire creativity, and leave a lasting impression.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Like most creative journeys, mine has been filled with setbacks, uncertainty, and a lot of learning through experience. One of the biggest challenges has been building everything independently. I’ve never had the backing of a major label or large creative agency to fund my ideas, so I’ve had to wear every hat myself. I’m the producer, artist, creative director, designer, marketer, and business owner all at once.
There were times when projects didn’t get the attention I felt they deserved, opportunities fell through, or I had to invest my own money into my vision without knowing if there would be a return. Breaking into multiple industries also meant constantly proving myself. Whether it was design, music, or creative direction, I had to earn credibility through the quality of my work rather than waiting for someone to give me permission.
The music side has been especially challenging because I produce, write, record, mix, and creatively direct my own releases. That meant spending years learning engineering, production, and marketing while continuing to improve my craft. It’s a constant process of refining my sound and finding new ways to stand out in an industry that’s always evolving.
One lesson that has stayed with me throughout my career is the importance of ownership. During my collaboration with Master P, I saw firsthand how much he valued owning your work, your brand, and your intellectual property. That experience reinforced something I already believed: real success isn’t just about creating great art, it’s about building something you truly own. That’s a philosophy I’ve carried into everything I do with Rebel G Society Records and why maintaining creative independence means so much to me.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change those struggles. Every obstacle forced me to become more self sufficient, more disciplined, and more intentional with my work. Those experiences shaped the creative and entrepreneur I am today, and they continue to motivate me to build something that is truly my own.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multidisciplinary creative whose work lives at the intersection of music, design, and storytelling. I’m a producer, recording artist, creative director, illustrator, and entrepreneur. I founded Rebel G Society Records because I wanted the freedom to create without limitations and build a body of work that is completely authentic to my vision.
My creative process always starts with an idea or emotion rather than a genre. Sometimes it’s a visual, sometimes it’s a melody, and other times it’s a concept that grows into an entire world. I produce my own music, write my lyrics, record my vocals, and oversee the creative direction from beginning to end. Once the music is finished, I design the artwork, develop the visual identity, create the merchandise, and direct the videos so everything feels connected. Every release is meant to be experienced as a complete piece of art, not just a collection of songs.
During the pandemic, my artwork, posters, and merchandise reached a global audience and several pieces went viral across social media. I consider myself an innovator in blending hip hop, anime, and pop culture into original visual narratives that connect with audiences across generations. One of my most recognized works was a portrait series reimagining Lauryn Hill and Sade as divine samurai warriors. The artwork was among the first to fuse those cultural influences in that way and quickly gained widespread attention, earning recognition from celebrities including Dead Prez, Wesley Snipes, and many others. My tribute artwork honoring the late Takeoff, Kobe Bryant, and Nipsey Hussle has also resonated with audiences worldwide, becoming some of my most recognizable and widely shared pieces.
In 2026, several of my new illustrations also went viral, leading to opportunities that were especially meaningful to me as a Jamaican artist. My work caught the attention of Sharon Marley, daughter of Bob Marley, as well as the Peter Tosh Estate. I was honored to be commissioned to create two original art pieces for each. Being recognized and approached by members of two of Jamaica’s most legendary musical families was a proud milestone in my career and a moment that reinforced my commitment to creating artwork that celebrates culture, legacy, and storytelling.
Most of my artwork is created as a statement. I want each piece to spark emotion, conversation, nostalgia, or inspiration rather than simply exist as an image. I believe that’s why so many people connect with my work. My artistic style has continually evolved over the years, becoming more refined, more cinematic, and more ambitious with every new collection while remaining rooted in originality and storytelling.
I’m constantly experimenting. I enjoy blending industrial hip hop, electronic music, dancehall, soul, and alternative sounds to create something that feels fresh while still telling a story. I don’t believe in staying inside one lane. I’m always challenging myself to learn new techniques, push creative boundaries, and evolve with every project.
What I’m most proud of is creating work that feels genuine. I don’t chase trends or try to imitate what’s popular at the moment. Instead, I focus on building original ideas that reflect who I am as both an artist and a designer. Whether I’m creating music, fine art, apparel, or visual experiences, every project is an opportunity to create something that didn’t exist before.
I think what sets me apart is that I see every project through a multidisciplinary lens. Music, design, branding, film, illustration, fashion, and storytelling are all part of the same creative process for me. Instead of treating them as separate disciplines, I combine them into one cohesive vision so every project has its own identity, atmosphere, and purpose. My goal has always been to build original creative worlds that inspire people, challenge convention, and leave a lasting cultural impact.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is to focus on building your skills before chasing recognition. It’s easy to get caught up in numbers, followers, and trying to go viral, but those things come and go. The work you put into your craft is what lasts. Spend time learning, experimenting, and creating as much as you can because every project teaches you something.
I also encourage people to embrace being multidisciplinary. Some of the biggest opportunities in my career came because I wasn’t afraid to learn new skills. Design led me to music, music led me to creative direction, and each discipline made me better at the others. Don’t put yourself in a box if your creativity naturally extends into different areas.
One thing I wish I understood earlier is the value of ownership. Own your masters, protect your intellectual property, and think like an entrepreneur from day one. Creating great work is important, but building something that you control is what creates long term opportunities. That’s a lesson that has guided my career and continues to shape every decision I make.
Finally, don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Success rarely happens overnight. Stay consistent, keep improving, and don’t be afraid to create work that reflects who you are instead of what everyone else is doing. Originality is your greatest advantage, and if you stay committed to your vision, you’ll build something that has lasting value.
