Conversations with Rheam Hood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rheam Hood.

Hi Rheam, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a singer, youtuber, and actor and as an actor, I’ve done a few projects that halted filming after putting in so much time & energy. I’ve also filmed projects that were fully completed, but just never saw the light of day or aired. After wasting so much time working with other people and seeing a part of the so called “downside” to acting, I realized that I had inadvertently observed exactly how to create a project and how to execute it just from sitting back and watching those creators that I had previously worked with. So, one day I woke up and decided that I was going to create my own production company called Dream Vision Network and reality show. I knew that I was no expert and didn’t really have any major editing skills other than the basic beginner editing that I would add to my YouTube videos while doing reviews on other reality tv shows that I was watching at the time, but I figured that I would do research to help with the challenges that I may face. I then found a group of people who were willing to join the first season of my very first series called “704” and we successfully completed our first season in 2025 and we’re currently wrapping up our second season which is set to premiere at the end of July 2026.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I decided to do this without ever having any training. I also have never been anyone’s boss before. Controlling and being responsible for a cast of strong-minded adults who are coming to you for any and everything most definitely took some getting used to. I also don’t think that I truly understood how much money it would take to run a production company. I spent many days and nights working overtime (OT) to make sure that this project comes out. The camera crew is not free nor are the event’s that we go to. However, I didn’t want my show to be one of those shows that never premieres, so I made sure to do whatever it took so that the project came out for the world to see and if it meant that I only get 4 to 5 hours of sleep, then so be it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work as the Practice Coordinator for a Doctors office/ hospital in 2 different departments. Some days I’m in the General Surgery department and other days I’m in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular department. I’m the only one in the office who works both departments because they know that I can get the job done. I love seeing my patients come in and telling me stories about their lives and adventures and it can also be sad at times when a patient that you’ve gotten close to passes away, but that’s the nature of my career.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My drive to not fail is what helps me to succeed. If I say that I’m going to do something, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do. This applies to all aspects of my life whether it’s my 9-5, my reality show/ production company, or me just showing up for a friend. I was raised to be a hardworking, honest, helpful, humble, and dependable man and from the feedback that I’m often given, I can truly say that I live by all of those things.
