Daily Inspiration: Meet PRYCE

Today we’d like to introduce you to PRYCE.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for music began very early at age 4. I began writing my own music at age 8 when my parents got a divorce to help me process my emotions and escape. From there I went to a performing arts high school and college, where I honed my craft. After attending college, I took a break from music and 2 years ago I started writing and performing again after realizing this is my dream and I have to go after it with everything I have.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not in the slightest, but being an artist gives me the space to navigate the highs and lows of life. I’ve experienced heartbreak, disappointment, trauma, and have even found myself becoming the kind of person that I hate. It’s really been a journey, but I wouldn’t have been able to survive any of it without my music.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am singer, songwriter, and overall creative person. I’m best known for my music, but I recently acted in my first film and directed my first musical. As an artist, I’m most proud of my EP – U Good?. It is my first body of work that allows my fans to listen in and join me on my journey. It took a lot for me to be vulnerable enough to create that project and release it into the world. I think that’s what sets me apart from other artists, it’s my ability to create music that is authentic and vulnerable, but still listenable and fun.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t think I’m particularly lucky. I believe I’m blessed enough to be able to use all forms of my creativity to generate income for myself. Not every artist can say that.
