Life & Work with Ahki Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ahki Taylor.

Ahki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My career really began during the early days of social media, when I started sharing my life and food as a blogger on Facebook. At the time, plant-based food wasn’t being presented online with the kind of beauty, creativity, and elevated visual storytelling that we see everywhere today. I saw an opportunity to change that. I wanted people to look at vegan food and see abundance, culture, color, sensuality, and possibility.

The response was incredible. My food content began spreading across Facebook, and eventually popular entertainment outlets like MediaTakeOut discovered my work and ran a story that introduced me to an even larger audience. That moment helped put me in the spotlight and showed me just how powerful this new world of social media could be.

As Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube emerged, my audience expanded beyond my immediate community and my work began reaching people globally. That visibility opened doors I could never have imagined when I first started posting my food online. I went on to work with celebrity clients, including Lenny Kravitz, and received national television exposure, including being highlighted as a resident vegan chef on The Wendy Williams Show.

What began with me simply sharing beautiful plant-based food on Facebook ultimately grew into an international career as a chef, author, educator, speaker, and wellness personality. I’m proud that I was part of an early generation of creators who helped show that plant-based living could be culturally relevant, visually stunning, aspirational, and accessible—and social media gave me the platform to take that message around the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were many challenges.. some of them were Social… for example I had to file two restraining orders for two followers that were stalking me. Becoming a public figure in their early stages was pretty extreme and made it difficult to trust even friendships at times I didn’t know if people were being genuine with me or just looking to expand their audience.. There were also some challenges with my own confidence and honestly a bit of imposter syndrome.. I knew I was a phenomenal teacher in holistic nutrition, and that my food was delicious, but I was not classically trained so I had to get over myself and just lean into my passion for food and service..

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a health and wellness coach and nutritional counselor. A specialize in plant based in alkaline foods also roll vegan foods.. I’m also a retreat host and a curate, global experiences and wellness vacations.. I’m also now helping people to relocate out of the US as I have lived in Belize for the last six years.. I am most proud of my influence as one of the first women to bring plant based living into pop culture..

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the wellness industry working heavily with corporate brands more than ever. I see it being a solution to burnout for everyday people to maintain a work life balance. I see plant-based foods becoming more of an accepted warm and available on every menu as the standard. I see entertainment, merging with wellness in a major way.
