Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Williams.

Hi Andy , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Andy Williams, professionally known as DJ Shakes—TCI Most Wanted. My journey began in Grand Turk, the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Coming from humble beginnings, I developed a love for music and entertainment that inspired me to become a DJ. Over the past 16 years, hard work, consistency and a strong connection with my audience have helped me grow from performing at local events into an internationally recognized entertainer.

Throughout my career, I have performed across the Turks and Caicos, the United States, Jamaica, Antigua, The Bahamas, the Dominican Republic and other destinations. I have opened for and worked alongside internationally known artists, while also helping to create opportunities and platforms for local performers. My ability to read a crowd, combine different musical genres and deliver energetic performances has become an important part of the DJ Shakes brand.

My journey extends beyond the stage. I am also an entrepreneur, promoter and philanthropist who believes strongly in supporting my community. I created the annual DJ Shakes Music Awards to recognize graduating students throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands, and I have used radio and entertainment to inspire and connect with young people.

Today, I continue building my brand, expanding internationally and representing the Turks and Caicos Islands wherever I perform. Every experience has taught me the importance of discipline, humility and believing in my purpose. My motto is “God is the boss,” and I remain committed to using music, business and community service to create a lasting impact.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth. Coming from a small island meant that opportunities, resources and exposure were limited. I had to work hard to build my name, invest in my own equipment and prove that an entertainer from the Turks and Caicos Islands could compete on an international level.

There were times when I was underestimated, overlooked or expected to perform without receiving the proper recognition or compensation. Traveling for opportunities was also challenging because of the cost and logistics involved. I experienced setbacks, financial pressure and moments when progress felt slow, but I never allowed those circumstances to stop me.

Another challenge has been balancing my career as a DJ with entrepreneurship, family responsibilities and my commitment to the community. Each role requires time, energy and sacrifice. However, these struggles helped me become more disciplined, resilient and business-minded.

I learned that talent alone is not enough. Success requires consistency, professionalism, strong relationships and the courage to keep moving even when things do not go as planned. Every obstacle has strengthened my faith and motivated me to create more opportunities for myself and others. My journey has taught me to remain humble, trust God and never forget where I came from.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional DJ, entertainer and promoter known as DJ Shakes—TCI Most Wanted. For more than 16 years, I have built my career by creating memorable musical experiences and connecting with diverse audiences.

My work has taken me throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands and internationally to destinations including the United States, Jamaica, Antigua, The Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. I have performed alongside and opened for internationally recognized artists, while also using my platform to promote talented local performers.

What separates me as an artist is my ability to read a crowd, blend different musical genres and bring energy to every event. Whether I am performing at a private celebration, nightclub, resort, corporate event or major concert, my goal is always to create an unforgettable experience.

Beyond performing, I am an entrepreneur, event promoter and community advocate. I created the annual DJ Shakes Music Awards to recognize graduating students across the Turks and Caicos Islands. My work represents more than entertainment—it is about culture, opportunity, community and proudly representing the Turks and Caicos Islands on the world stage.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is my family, my faith, my community and the legacy I leave behind. My daughter is one of my greatest motivations. I want her to see that discipline, hard work and believing in yourself can turn humble beginnings into something meaningful.

My community also matters deeply to me because the Turks and Caicos Islands made me who I am. I believe success means more when it creates opportunities for others. That is why I use my platform to support young people, recognize graduating students through the DJ Shakes Music Awards and help local artists receive greater exposure.

I want my journey to show others that where you come from does not determine how far you can go. Music and business have given me a platform, but making a positive difference is what gives that platform purpose. At the end of the day, I want to be remembered not only as a successful entertainer and entrepreneur, but as someone who uplifted his people, represented his country proudly and inspired the next generation to dream bigger.
