Life & Work with A’sethesingerr of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to A’sethesingerr.

Hi A’sethesingerr, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started singing at a young age, sharing covers and performances on YouTube and singing at small family and community festivities. My dad played a big role in introducing me to different sounds and genres, which helped me develop a love for music and explore my own voice. As I got older, I continued to grow as an artist, experimenting with songwriting, recording, and finding my own sound. Today, I’m continuing to build my career as an independent R&B artist, using my experiences and emotions to create music that feels authentic to me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s true for anything in life that’s worth pursuing. I’ve faced challenges with staying consistent, finding my sound, navigating the industry, and balancing music with everything else life brings. There have been moments of doubt and setbacks, but each experience has taught me something and pushed me to grow. I’ve learned to keep going, trust my journey, and not let the hard moments stop me from pursuing what I love.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an independent R&B artist and songwriter. I specialize in creating music that blends R&B and neo-soul with a very personal and emotional approach. I’m known for being vulnerable and honest in my music while still bringing a feminine, soulful energy to everything I create.

I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown as an artist and the fact that I’ve continued to create and release music independently. What sets me apart is that I’m not afraid to experiment and be myself. I want people to hear my music and feel like they’re experiencing a real piece of me, not just another song.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that might surprise people is that I speak Chinese! I actually started learning Mandarin when I was in kindergarten and continued studying it throughout high school. Music has always been a huge part of my life, but learning another language at such a young age gave me a completely different appreciation for sounds, culture, and expression.
