Today we’d like to introduce you to Serena Jones Corbett.

Hi Serena , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Wise Learning Connections was born out of a passion for serving children, parents, leaders and the educators. After spending years in early childhood education in various leadership roles, I recognized that many educators and parents desired practical tools, encouragement, and professional development that not only built knowledge but also strengthened relationships and confidence.

As my career evolved, so did my vision. I transitioned from working within a single program to launching Wise Learning Connections, allowing me to support schools, organizations, churches, and community partners on a broader scale. Today, I provide professional development for early childhood educators, parent engagement workshops, leadership coaching, and trauma-informed training designed to create healthy environments where children and adults can thrive.

My faith has been a guiding force throughout this journey. It has shaped my belief that every child deserves caring, prepared adults, every parent deserves support without judgment, and every educator deserves to be valued, equipped, and encouraged.

What began as a passion has grown into a mission. Through Wise Learning Connections, I have the privilege of partnering with schools, nonprofit organizations, churches, and community agencies to strengthen families, empower educators, and make a lasting impact in the lives of children. Whether I am leading a training session, facilitating a parenting workshop, or ministering, my goal is always the same: to help people grow with purpose, lead with compassion, and create meaningful connections that change lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey has not been a completely smooth road. Building a business requires faith, perseverance, and a willingness to adapt. One of the biggest challenges has been transitioning from the security of a traditional leadership role to running a business where every opportunity must be cultivated through relationships, networking, and consistently demonstrating value.

Perhaps the greatest lesson has been learning that growth is not always measured by speed. Some of the most meaningful opportunities have come through consistency, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving others well. Every challenge has strengthened my leadership, sharpened my purpose, and reminded me why I started Wise Learning Connections in the first place.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Wise Learning Connections, my mission is to equip educators, empower parents, and strengthen families by providing practical, engaging, and relationship-centered learning experiences. I offer professional development for early childhood educators, leadership coaching, parent engagement workshops, keynote speaking, and trauma-informed training that helps adults better understand and support the children in their care.

One of the things I’m most proud of is seeing lives transformed beyond the training room. Hearing individuals say they feel renewed in their purpose, watching parents strengthen relationships with their children, and partnering with organizations committed to creating lasting impact reminds me why this work matters.

What truly sets Wise Learning Connections apart is our philosophy: “Acquiring knowledge does not make one Wise; Applying knowledge makes one Wise.” That belief shapes everything I do. I do not want participants to simply leave with a notebook full of information, I want them to leave with the confidence, skills, and practical strategies to create real change in their classrooms, organizations, homes, and communities.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is receiving a Polaroid camera for Christmas when I was eight years old. I took photos of everything, family gatherings, special occasions, and everyday moments that I did not want to forget.

Looking back, I realize that gift sparked something in me. It taught me to appreciate people, relationships, and the importance of preserving meaningful moments.
