Meet Bijan Ross

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bijan Ross.

Hi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a Plus Model and Content Creator based in LA. I’m just a girl that wants more plus-size bodies to be present in spaces where we belong, especially POC. I want all sizes to feel beautiful in their skin and to love themselves more for who they are versus what they look like.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been a lot of challenges because Plus size individuals are still not catered to as much as smaller sizes, I still have a hard time shopping at any in-person store because they either don’t have my size, or the pattern and style is just not cute at all for the bigger bodies. We need to take up space in places where people have doubted us or have looked down on plus-size individuals just based on how we look. Plus size people are people too and we should be in high fashion shoots, we should be in Vogue, we should be on the runway more often, and we should be given just as much as a chance to show the ACTUAL size of a lot of people in our society.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m not only working to give confidence and support to plus sizes babes but working for myself. I would have never imagined where I am today, not even three years away when the Pandemic started. It’s really crazy how far you can go with just believing in yourself and not giving up! So if you need a sign to keep pushing and believing in what you do with purpose, let this be your sign.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness and joy really come with everything I love to do. I find happiness in the simple things and when I achieve something, I’m super proud about. From being able to get a video game that I love (I’m a huge nerd inside lol) or just from getting a shoot and casting that I really worked hard for. The simple things really do matter and bring me joy in a basic day-to-day. I always say be your authentic self and people will love that. Show who you are and hopefully, the connections you have will be real with you too.
