Today we’d like to introduce you to Cat.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been into dressing up and expressing myself through clothing since I was young. I was raised by my single mother so while she would be away at work, I would be at home creating outfits with my barbies or dolls. When I was older my mom got me into modeling and acting. I absolutely loved it. I did runway shows in New York and briefly lived in California while I pursued acting. When I got older I was into sports more until I found anime my senior year of high school. I was obsessed with the art and stories that were fresh and new to me. My best friend started going to conventions and I decided to join because it sounded fun. It was at these conventions that I saw people cosplaying for the first time. I immediately fell in love. I loved dressing up when I was young so this was naturally something I was drawn to. A few months later a friend and I started a joint cosplay account and we posted all our work there for roughly a year and a half. It chronicled our travels to different cons, and my journey with improving makeup and sewing. I also handcrafted my first costume around this time. Due to personal differences we ended up parting and I decided to create a cosplay account that was just for me. Shortly after I started posting alone it blew up and has taken off since. I’ve met so many wonderful people and honestly my goal is to just have fun and meet other like-minded people in this community. I also want to help others feel comfortable in cosplaying whoever they want and bring more inclusivity to the community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While I can definitely say I’ve been extremely lucky in terms of how quickly I’ve grown, I have had bumps in the road over the course of my career. When I began making content on my joint account I lived a few states over from my creative partner which made it extremely hard to produce any content consistently. Basically every time we met up- whether it was for conventions or just to hang out as friends, we would have to spend hours doing photos and videos to make up for lost time. When we ended up parting ways that was also huge motivator but also something that I was really bummed about because so much effort and heart had gone into the work that we posted. After that it was difficult navigating everything on my own. Cons, Events, Videos, there was no built in friend to join me, it was just me figuring out how to do everything. I also struggle with ADHD which makes everything feel 10x harder than it needs to be especially when it comes to consistency, which is huge for things like streaming

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a cosplayer. I’m most known for my Jujutsu Kaisen cosplays and my love for Megumi. I take a lot of pride in my makeup. I’ve been interested in makeup since I was very young. I’m also proud of how much I’ve learned since starting cosplay. From wig styling to sewing, I started at little to no skill so it’s crazy to see how far I’ve come. I think my history in modeling has made taking photos and knowing which angles work a lot easier. I also enjoy doing cosplays that are alternate outfits which makes things fresh and fun.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was really loud and eccentric. I wanted to dress up and wear costumes all the time. I loved playing with dolls, barbies, all things fashion. Pretty much a typical girly girl. I loved going to my acting classes because my agent would wear these pointy heels which I just thought were sooooooooo chic. I wanted to grow up and be fashionable, always in heels corporate baddie type. I also loved gaming. My dad got me a gamecube for Christmas and I thought it was the most fun thing ever created. After that I had multiple consoles/devices. Gameboy, Ds, Wii, Xbox 360. Throughout life the one thing that has stayed most consistent is my love for games.
