Meet John N. Dixon of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to John N. Dixon.

Hi John N. , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ever since I was a kid… I always knew I wanted to be an actor, musician, or entertainer. It was a calling I couldn’t ignore. I started my training in acting at a young age and was fortunate enough to have the support of my family as the hobby grew into an undeniable passion that eventually blossomed into a career. I am proud to say that I have been a full
time actor, musician, and entertainer for over 10 years now.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been a smooth path… it has been filled with quite a lot of bumps and quite a few detours. I didn’t find my discipline until I quit drinking 12 years ago. It was the best decision I have ever made and when I made that decision… I really started to pick up speed on my path in the acting/music world. However, I couldn’t have gotten here without the numerous bumps on the road. Sometimes the journey, not the destination, is the best teacher in life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As an actor I am known for my role as ‘The Ops Specialist’ in Captain America: Brave New World. One for my greatest achievements so far was working with the director Gus Van Sant on his latest movie ‘Dead Man’s Wire’ where I play The First Responder opposite of Bills Skarsgård. Also, you may have seen me on the hit TV show ‘Will Trent’ as Kevin in season 1 Episode 6 and ‘Young Rock’ as The Gym Teacher in Season 3. In addition, some of you might recognize me as ‘Mr. M’ from the best selling novel turned tv show ‘Black Dagger Brotherhood’.

As a musician, my album ‘The World is a Stage’ debuted at 97 on the charts where I mix the world of Shakespeare and rap in a whimsical fantasy world. I also have 7 albums streaming on every streaming platform under the stage name John Dixon XV and 3 out of those 7 are on the best sellers list. ‘Mount Olympus’ being one of those albums… where rap is intertwined with the epic world of the Greek gods. I eventually have plans to turn all of these themed albums into musicals for the stage.

What sets me apart from others is my determination and endurance to never quit.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Right now, we are seeing A LOT of changes in the entertainment industry. As AI becomes more prevalent in the entertainment industry… I try to keep myself flexible and adaptable. I have hopes that the humanity of acting/music will continue to be the main driving force behind the connection to the arts.
