Meet Morgan Light of New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Light.

Hi Morgan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a kid, my favorite pastime was cutting furniture out of catalogs and arranging it into rooms, making collages and finding any excuse to build a world on paper.

After high school, I moved to New York City to study photography, knowing the city would challenge and inspire me. I quickly realized I had more of a knack for graphic design and went on to earn my BFA from the School of Visual Arts, interning every semester along the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every client and project comes with its own set of challenges. Creating brands that genuinely move the needle carries a lot of pressure. You’re balancing ambition, differing opinions, practical constraints and the responsibility of making something that will live in the world.

Technology is also evolving incredibly quickly, so the job requires constantly learning and adapting. The tools may change, but the real challenge remains the same: making thoughtful work that connects with people and lasts.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a designer with a deep love for packaging and a background in brand identity. I partner with
brands to bring their purpose to life through thoughtful graphic design and art direction. I work directly with founders and decision makers to build distinct brands with a clear point of view.

I believe the best brands reflect what makes a business singular, not what the market is already doing.

My work spans identity, campaigns and packaging. I love making all sorts of things, particularly the ones that end up on a shelf.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
AI will absolutely change the way we work. In fact, it already is.
