Meet Reghan Bandy of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reghan Bandy.

Hi Reghan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started off as a student athlete, running track for 7 years and playing basketball for 2 years until I graduated high-school. When I was around 17, I realized that I had a genuine passion for fashion. Though, I was always considered a Fashionista ever since I could remember. My mind was first set on running track professionally and being an entrepreneur. I had an amazing high-school career as an athlete, obtaining many great awards. However, I eventually realized my true calling was in creating. After high-school. I had to figure out how I was going to excel as a fashion designer. My plan was to move straight to Atlanta and start working at age 18, unfortunately, that didn’t go as planned. I ended up at Alabama A&M for one year, I also lost focus on my main goal while I was there and I quickly realized I had to leave before I got stuck and would never accomplish my dreams. After May 2024, and a crazy 2 semesters at A&M, I had to go back to the drawing board and figure out my next move. Luckily, I ended up discovering SCAD ATL, which is part of the reason why I am doing what I am today. I always knew I wanted to be in ATL and now I am here, even though it wasn’t exactly in the way I planned, I know it went that way for a reason. After 2 years at SCAD, I started my career as a model, I have styled many runway shows. launched my first Fashion line, and so forth, Now, I am preparing my next move to France in September to study and further my career.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been so rocky for me. There’s nothing easy about wanting to make a career in the creative industry. I personally do a lot as a creator, I model. design clothes, style, creative direction, also getting into film and music. However, it’s extremely hard out here. If you’re not networking and connecting everytime you step foot outside, it’s going to be even harder. I had to go through so many obstacles to get to where I am today. From going to a college that I didn’t really want to be at was hard as well. People getting close to me only for their benefit. It can get really hard, but I just continue to work hard and trust that Yahweh always makes a way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently focusing on my path as a fashion creator/designer. Though I consider myself to be a jack of all trades, dabbling in most things creative, fashion is my main focus right now. I’m working on expanding my fashion line called RRAY’ZIGN, meaning “my designs” or “Ray’s designs” officially launched in 2025. Nonetheless, I feel as if I’m mostly known for my fashion content & Accomplishments as a model. I still am building my name as the next big fashion designer/mogul. As I mentioned, I will soon be living in France to better expand my experience and creativity, I would consider this next move to be my greatest accomplishment because I have worked so incredibly hard to get there. Everything that I’ve accomplished is truly what sets ne apart because I do it to inspire. I live to inspire others, while also making the younger me proud because this is everything she’s ever dreamed of. My ambition and passion as a creative goes so much farther than I can truly imagine and I still learn more about myself as time goes on. That’s what sets me apart.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is when I can look at what I’ve accomplished and say that it “I did it!”. Everything that I’ve worked for went as planned or maybe not exactly, but its has been done. Others see me and my work and know that I’m legit, even I, myself can look at my work and know that it’s legit and I am really doing everything that I planned for. That’s how I look at it, and I feel as if my success is right around the corner.
