Meet Yenni Castillo Espinosa of Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yenni Castillo Espinosa.

Hi Yenni, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey has always been driven by two things: a deep curiosity for how things work and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

I started my career as an electronics engineer and later stepped into program management, where I learned how to solve complex problems, manage large-scale moving parts, and lead with strategy. Originally from Mexico, I’ve called Georgia home for the past 19 years, building a wonderful life here with my husband, our two amazing kids, and our two beloved pets.
When the pandemic hit, I felt a powerful pull to connect with my roots and share the rich, vibrant beauty of my culture. I launched my own boutique, learning from scratch how to build an e-commerce platform and run a business. My passion was curated around hand-crafted artisan products, specifically Mexican fashion and handbags, bringing a piece of my heritage to my local community.

As much as I loved the creative and cultural side of retail, my deep-rooted passion for technology never left me. As AI began transforming the world, I saw a massive gap: small business owners were burnt out, drowning in daily administrative tasks, and lacked the time to actually grow. I realized I could combine my technical engineering background, my project management experience, and my real-world boutique owner insights to bridge that gap.
Today, I empower small business owners to harness the power of AI. I teach them how to automate repetitive tasks, streamline operations, and use AI as a reliable digital assistant so they can reclaim their time, reduce burnout, and focus on what they love.
Beyond business, my heart lies in community building. I actively support a local non-profit by managing their social media marketing content and creating spaces where people feel supported. For me, this next chapter isn’t just about teaching technology, it’s about creating a strong, uplifted community where small business owners and locals can find the resources, friendship, and encouragement they need to thrive.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth, linear road, but I don’t think it was supposed to be. I like to view every obstacle along the way as a necessary building block.
Pivoting from engineering to running a boutique during a global pandemic brought a steep learning curve. Later, stepping into the Al space meant constantly adapting to rapid technology changes while helping non-technical business owners feel confident in a new digital landscape. On a personal level, balancing family life, business, and community work always requires intentional harmony.
Looking back, every struggle taught me a valuable lesson in patience, resilience, and adaptability. Those experiences were essential-they shaped my path, refined my skills, and guided me exactly to where l am meant to be today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve spent over two decades in high-tech engineering and project leadership. Originally from Mexico, I moved to Atlanta 19 years ago when my husband was invited to join an engineering team here. Relocating with two very young children, just two years and two months old at the time, and adapting to a new culture required my full focus, so I decided to pause my professional path for three years to establish our family. Once my youngest started kindergarten, I felt ready to return to the high-tech industry. I applied to the same company that relocated us and was deeply grateful for their warm reception as I resumed my career, eventually transitioning from hardware design into Program Management. Today, I lead engineering teams in the LED lighting industry, bringing complex technological products to life. Alongside my corporate career, I specialize in helping small business owners and non-profits leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, save time, and scale their businesses.

I think one thing that sets me apart is my rare bridge between technical engineering experience and real-world small-business empathy. Having built my own retail boutique during the pandemic to share my Mexican heritage, I intimately understand the burnout, time constraints, and operational challenges small business owners face. I don’t just teach AI, I translate complex technology into simple, actionable digital assistants for everyday entrepreneurs.

I feel most proud of my resilience and my commitment to community. Stepping onto a plane 19 years ago with two tiny babies to build a life in a new country took incredible courage, and this community has embraced me ever since. Using my knowledge today to give back, whether by helping local business owners reclaim their time through AI or managing social media content for non-profits, is what fulfills me most.

How do you think about happiness?
I’ll be the first to admit that life isn’t always rosy, but I firmly believe every challenge happens for a reason. What truly fills my heart and brings me the greatest joy is my family, my friends, and my adorable pets!

Living thousands of miles from my native country, building a tight-knit community here in Georgia means everything to me. Whether it’s enjoying a fun girls’ night out with friends or creating spaces where local business owners support each other, surrounding myself with good people and a strong support system is what keeps me happy, grounded, and inspired every single day.
